So Rubio hangs out with a NAZI groupie

Al lot.

It is no longer possible for the average person to easily find the truth on many important issues because so much money is poured into sophism. There is too much info out there calling itself the truth.

The old saw that you are entitled to your own opinions but not your own facts has been convincingly disproved. Loud voices - i.e., lots of money spent on propaganda and lies - trumps truth.

You want to know if X is true? Google it and you'll find plenty of cites saying it's true. Want to know if that same X is false? Google it and you'll find plenty of cites saying it's false. How does someone who wants to know the truth cut through that?

But it's worse than that. The average person does not want the truth. The average person wants to be told that what he already believes is the truth.

Heard it on Fox? Research it neutrally and you can find evidence for and against it. Ditto for MSNBC. But look only for what you want to find and you'll be reassured.

Take money out of politics and the problem reduced somewhat. Maybe not enough, but it's a start.
Correct but that will not change with how campaigns are financed.

It may even be a careful what you wish for item. Look at what crackpot stuff you can find on the web now that would only get worse if you force these people to go that route instead of putting money into TV.

For better or worse the information age is upon us and that there is too much bad stuff is a topic we agree on I just don't think it changes by shutting down the part one side or the other feels is bad.

I am curious what that signed copy of "Mein Kampf" would be worth these days.

Was his version in English or German?

Once again, we are hearing a bunch of disjointed, incomplete facts mixed with someone else's interpretation.

.................................................................................

I personally own a collection of Eurotrash/WIP (Women in Prison) movie posters from the 1960's and 1970's. A couple of them have WWII settings and accordingly feature a Swastika here and there. My favorite is from a film called "Love Camp #7" and is a beautiful work of art in its own right.

I will be alerting the candidates to cancel any trips to my house that may have been scheduled.

Oh, I agree. The right is much "better" at this sort of smear than the left. Sadly, though, the Dems are doing it more and catching up.

Think of it this way. If you see a graphic with some awful quote from a lefty, you can assume it's a deliberate misrepresentation. Not that lefties don't sometimes say stupid things, but because misrepresentation is the preferred GOP MO. But unfortunately, I'm now seeing similar misrepresentations coming from the Dem side.

Here's a recent example:

What Rubio actually said was objectionable. But he did NOT say women look forward to getting abortions.

I wish Dems and the left would stop shooting themselves in the foot with these amateurish misrepresentations. Not that more professional misrepresentations would be good, you understand.
Well yeah it's annoying. I mean the Republican 14 are such a bunch of doofuses that they will shoot their own feet off if you just give them a sound bite or two. It takes a small bit of patience but it will work. True, Rubio seems to be among the 3 or 4 best of an incredibly bad bunch but it doesn't mean he's going anywhere. Jesus, just kick back and let them destroy themselves.

Scott Walker, the Bush family, and many others have Nazi ties.
Really? Are you talking about Prescott? I may be simplistic, but all I know about the Bush family and WWII is George Sr. defended his country. And, despite the movie version there were children of privilege who didn't serve, or found cushy spots to land (Like George Jr did in Vietnam), for that you have to respect George Sr for serving in combat.
Beyond that it's an odd assertion to casually slip in the the Bush family had Nazi ties with no supporting link.

I attended a flea market yeaterday that ha SS stuff and swastika flags and stuff from Nazi germany for sale. some people collect it. does not make them nazis. some people collect the black sambo art as well, does not make them racist

Yes I am quite serious, and Prescott is a member of the Bush family is he not? He was friends with George Walker, who also along with him had Nazi ties. Link provided. Educate yourself, and plead at me no longer, we are done for now.

WASHINGTON -- After 60 years of inattention and even denial by the U.S. media, newly-uncovered government documents in The National Archives and Library of Congress reveal that Prescott Bush, the grandfather of President George W. Bush, served as a business partner of and U.S. banking operative for the financial architect of the Nazi war machine from 1926 until 1942, when Congress took aggressive action against Bush and his "enemy national" partners.

The documents also show that Bush and his colleagues, according to reports from the U.S. Department of the Treasury, tried to conceal their financial alliance with German industrialist Fritz Thyssen, a steel and coal baron who, beginning in the mid-1920s, personally funded Adolf Hitler's rise to power by the subversion of democratic principle and German law.

Furthermore, the declassified records demonstrate that Bush and his associates, who included E. Roland Harriman, younger brother of American icon W. Averell Harriman, and George Herbert Walker, President Bush's maternal great-grandfather, continued their dealings with the German industrial tycoon for nearly a year after the U.S. entered the war.

This episode is strickly about Debbie Wasserman-Schultz, not Rubio. She is a moron.
Holy crap....Wasserman-Schultz is an idiot. I lean left and it boggles the mind that the Dems have that idiot representing the party.

Those are absolutely historical documents and if I had the $$$ I wouldn't mind having them.....
