So...why do you folks hate Cruz?

Hmmmm......

I've voted both sides (even an independent once) at all levels...local and national. I have no patience for the extreme....both left and right. I consider myself conservative and tend to lean to the right on most issues. When looking at a potential president, I look not only at where they stand on issues that I feel are important, but also at the man (or woman) and how "presidential" they are. How is this person going to represent the country not only to other countries, but to ours as well? That isn't the most important thing, but it is part of the overall package.

There is no perfect candidate. There isn't a single candidate that has the same viewpoint as I do on every issue. I try to pick the person who is closest to my beliefs on the majority of the most important issues.

I don't have a favorite presidential candidate yet. I am going to do my own research (on the ones I haven't already eliminated) and make my own decision.

Which is how it should be.

Is it the implication of using nuclear weapons to make the sand glow, or the massive civilian casualties that would occur by carpet bombing cities that you like?

I just like things that glow in the dark

I like his policies the best of the R field if he would just lay off the religion and social issues. Those are the least of my concern.

He would destroy Hillary in debates though I know that.

Problem is everyone wants to punch his face in.

He can't even destroy Trump in debates. Why do you think he would destroy Hillary?

Edit: I think Swag answered my question.

Agree with this, guy is a good debator. If the Republicab debates were held like the democrat ones without the candidates talking over each other the dude would kill it.

If you listen to the actual answers and not just the rise that Trump gets out of people, yes he has done way better than Trump. Problem is the general electorate like Kardashianesque news and answers.

He is way smarter than anyone left in the field and a much better debater.

It is fascinating to see the reasons listed in this thread. Everything from being to far the right on social issues, having a puncheable face, to implying he would be some sort of religious zealot who would bring back stoning and the burning of witches.
I'm sure he would try to cast the first stone, as I'm sure he believes he is without sin.

For a guy who is a master-debater (Sorry, GOP earned this one with all the dick talk), Cruz certainly hasn't shown it. Rubio has had many fine moments. Kasich is probably the only one who didn't look like a complete schmuck last night. Even Christie had his five minutes of fame when he buried Rubio with the robot talk.

But where has Cruz been? He's just kind of been in the middle of the pack. Good enough to stay in it, but not good enough that any of the debates did him much good. Sorry. I'm just not buying the myth that Cruz is some sort of intellectual God. Nothing that has happened so far in the debates demonstrates this.

These haven't been debates. They are circus sideshows.

Agreed. But why hasn't Cruz been able to make much headway in any of them? As I've pointed out, other candidates have had their moments. How did these so-called inferior debaters get it done, but Cruz couldn't?
