I don't know your neck of the woods, but I would add that having a preference is not the same as being scared. I prefer not to associate with people who preach hate and violence as the answer to anyone different than them.

I just happen to be smarter than you and realize large groups are made up of individuals. There are some Christians and Jews I disapprove of because of their beliefs. Doesn't mean I disapprove of Christianity and Judaism in totality.
I find groups like the Taliban and ISIS completely despicable, yet realize they are not the entire religion.

As far as radicalization, in the present, the religion of Islam has real issues which means the world currently has an issue w Islam. Religion is just a tool, like govt, and Islam is being used to recruit people to harm others at significantly higher rates than the other major religions.
To say otherwise is ignoring reality and i am not sure how we resolve the issue but it does need to be resolved. Tolerance hasn't seemed to work and blowing shit up hasn't seemed to work. My guess is It will take sane Muslims standing up in an extremely bold manner, putting themselves at risk, to put this issue to bed. Unfortunately we have not seen enough of that to this point.
