Don’t forget jazz. Here’s Herbie Hancock live in 2010 playing his “Chameleon” with young bassist Tal Wilkenfield. The song opens with the bass line that you’re looking for.

Best bass line?

To me this album is unbeatable!

I had this in college when I had 18"s in my dorm room. I could wake up people in other buildings!

Edited to add: your phone/ computer can't even pick up most of the range of bass frequencies on this song.

Feel like a poser. I'm barely a Primus fan. I like Primus, my friend who introduced me is just a bigger fan. I just had to include Les in the bass thread because I'm a rivals reaction score hoe

Nothing wrong with white boy reggae bro. Besides the whole cultural appropriation thing……..classic white folks, amirite?
You get busted by people offended you like reggae, you switch to ska. Problem solved (then go back to reggae when no one's looking)

Isn't reggae born of not liking white people?
You never heard of self-loathing? Naw I didn't know that, my earliest memory of reggae is a 90s commercial for a reggae hits CD and everyone on the commercial looked happy. I guess they were smiling thinking about the Haitian Revolution?

Photographic evidence and vague recollections suggest I was there in 2002 and 2003.
El oh el. I remember being nervous about bringing bud in but the only thing “security” cared about was if we had glass bottles. I wish I could go back to whatever year that was, when it was still mostly hippies, and see some bands we missed out on.

Trying to think of a reggae song I’m familiar with, with lyrics along the lines of “kill whitey”….drawing a blank, lol. Reggae music originates from the Caribbean island Regat. Which translated from German is “Whales Vagina”. That being said, if reggae was born from not liking white people, I would hardly fault the originators. I mean, white people have a pretty solid track record of being the worst lol.

El oh el always makes me think it’s the name of a minor kryptonian character based on the motion picture Batman @Moral , can you confirm?

I’m stoned guys, many apologies.
