With Gilman, Clark, Meyer and Brooks being seniors a lot depends on how Kemdog and Sorenson do I believe they will do good and the Hawks could have a shot to win it all so I feel as if Marinelli has to go unless Paddock really improves just my opinion .

This is what I am hoping for:
125- Gilman
133- Clark
141- Carton
149- Sorenson (I believe Sorenson will stay here because it's in his best interest)
157- Kemerer (I think he has the frame to fill into this class by next season)
165- Marinelli
174- Meyer
184- Brooks
197- Holloway
285- Stoll

I see about 7-8 All Americans if this is the lineup next year.

I don't know if Meyer can keep making 174. He cuts a ton. I also don't think Brooks is big enough for 197. I wonder if we see Meyer go all the way up to 97.

So...it appears that the four biggest questions for next year's lineup will be:

1) Turk or Carton at 141? [I'm pulling for Turk)
2) Sorensen or Kemerer moves to 157? (Seems Kemerer would be best bet)
3) Marinelli redshirts or goes at 165? (WRESTLE!!)
4) Meyer and Brooks stay at 174 & 184, or move up a weight? (Don't think either will be as effective if they move up, unless they can't make the lower weight)

I'm confident that 141 will be decent, but have concern about 197. People talk about holes, but every team has holes --- if our lineup has two holes, that hopefully means 8 AA which should win nationals.

It really all depends on where Meyer and Sorenson want to go. I can't see him wanting to go up a weight and deal with Nolf, Imar and Jo Jo
25 Gillman
33 Clark
41 Carton
49 bsor
57 kem
65 Marin, Gunther, paddock. Lots of guys
74 Meyer
84 Brooks
97 halloway. Did wehear if klap got his extra year? Im really hoping we can get a transfer.
Hwt-Stoll

Or
Gillman
Clark
Carton
Bsor
Kem
Marinelli
Paddock
Brooks
Meyer
Still

149-Sorensen
157-Kemdawg

Cutting to 149 was quite a haul for Kemdawg from what I hear. Note that he went at 157 in his last open I think. He could do it at 149 because he is super disciplined, but I think 157 is the better fit for him.

BTW, I believe IMar goes up because 165 clears out.

I am a Penn St fan but the above is a really solid line up. The next few years will see some really great competition and battles. Man, I love this sport. You guys are filling holes very nicely, especially if Sorenson, Kemmerer get into the best weight classes for each of them.

You can't have holes anymore if you don't have a couple Champs imo. Different back in the day but when PSU has 3-4 realistic champs every year with lots of bonus a solid team doesn't cut it anymore. We just need to focus our coaching on the holes. I am confident we have the guys to do it.

How is Moody looking for 165? Seems a lot of you were high on his potential/ceiling; wondering if he'll be a factor.

Our holes will be 141 165 197. I'm not sold on Carton doing anything next year. 157 will be a meat grinder for sure.

At 197 I don't we are in as much trouble as people think. Holloway is as strong as an ox and I think rolling around with Burak for a year will do him wonders.

Perhaps eventually but not sure the light comes on already next year. So far, his redshirt performance has been reasonable without being outstanding.

Meyer is cutting too much at 174 for sure, Brooks might suffer a bit too. Either they move em both up or jump Meyer to 197. I hope the light goes on for Holloway, he has some good skills, but I'm not sure it will be next year. IMO AM is our only shot for an AA at 165 so hopefully he is at the level. I think a Turk could very well make a jump and get into AA discussion, Carton could as well if he cleans some stuff up with his finishes and getting off bottom.

You could have said the same thing about Stoll last year as well.

Not sure I agree. Stoll's win over Brooks Black proved that he could be a top 20 wrestler out of the gate (Pyles had Black in Flo's post season top 20). Holloway doesn't have a win near that level in college.

Even though Holloway doesn't have that big win he was very close to pinning Rotert at Midlands. Rotert had to come back to beat him but that match tells me he is game, but not sure if he is ready next year. I know the track record at Iowa the majority of the time is to stay at a weight class unless someone moves you so as much as I would like to see Meyer bump I would be surprised if he does.
