As preferred walkons per twitter. Those who follow small town Iowa basketball will remember Steven and Michael Soukup from some great Danville teams a few years ago. They've spent the last two years at SE CC. Steven scored 13 ppg while Michael was at 7 ppg. Both shot at 45+% from 3. Both are 6'5 wings. Not sure if one plays PG at SECC.

Not sure if anything will come from either of them, but it's always cool when small school kids land on the Iowa roster. But if they're preferred walk-ons, I bet they get redshirted and see if one can break into the rotation in the 2 years they'd have left. Can never have too many shooters.

Nope, quikstats has them as seniors in '13 so they still have a redshirt year available.

I played against them in High School. They both can shoot and were effective at posting up smaller guards who usually guarded them, but they would not survive in the paint unless they have put on muscle since being @ SCC. I don't know how good SCC has been the past few years as I moved to Kansas City right after they basically kicked everyone off the team years ago for doing stupid stuff.

I think they have played in the PTL as well. They are smart, but not real athletic. But like the OP mentioned they can shoot. I would highly doubt if either ever played more of a role than Denning did this past year.

Growing up in the area (a few years older than the twins) I followed them fairly closely. Agree they likely won't see a ton of time but I think the talent level is higher than that of Dennings (granted I didn't see Denning outside of his time at Iowa).

Glad they will be Hawks! They wanted to stay together and close to home. Can't have too many 45% 3 point shooters!

Maybe four? Rose, Baer and now the Soukup twins. One more and we have ourselves a Grey team.
