-Coached by former Nebraska assistant Craig Smith (the brains behind Miles)
-Regular season Summit Champ
-Lost to Nebraska by 12, Houston by 27, Gonzaga by 37
-Split games with Omaha

Bottom line is that this will be a tough game. The 1 vs 8 in the NIT are always tough and dangerous. The #8 usually is very motivated. Lets hope Iowa is.

Iowa will win by 20 going away...

That is kind of how I feel. However, it is the NIT... If the top seeds really care about being there, they should win. If they don't really care to be there it will be one and done.

I think it actually bodes well that we have a young team for a deep run in the NIT.

Trey will return. He is excited as I just talked to him. USD has some talent. Not on the coaching end though. Dickerson is very explosive to rim, Matt Mooney is the real deal at off guard. He can shoot the 3 and take it to the hole. He has been team lately. Flack inside is athletic but gets intimidated easily by other bigs. Hurst is bigger guard and athletic. Not much of scorer. Had SDSU beat until it came to coaching.

Go to bed.

I see the Iowa ticket office is doing their part to mess it up. Ordered tickets and saying the print at home function is "delayed."

So they charge you 5.00 for will call tickets? Damn Ticket office get your crap together! Were the #1 seed in the NIT!!

Maybe. I've watched USD play about 10 times this season, a couple in-person. They were playing really good BB down the stretch to take the Summit League title. They do have some shooters - especially Matt Mooney who is the type of player who could go for 25. Their weakness is inside. Flack is good but once he leaves the court their inside defense suffers.

I think Iowa will win by 10-12 but could be much closer if Mooney gets it going.

????

I didn't have to pick anything. Tickets automatically sent as PDF unless you opted will call.

Agree with the Mooney assessment others have stated. If he's on, look out. If the Iowa that beat Maryland & Wisky shows, shouldn't have to sweat it out much.....Shoot like they did in DC, who knows....

They have been doing this the last 2 years. You don't get the tickets instantly. They verify you didn't go over the ticket limit, then email you the tickets. Usually it's the same night, but I highly doubt anyone is in the ticket office at 9 p.m. on a Sunday.
You'll get them tomorrow morning.

Okay thanks

Ive only orders football tickets recently and those are mailed to you. So I wasn't sure about the "delayed" part. Can't wait to be in Carver!

If were not hitting from deep then pound them with Cook, Pemsl, Kreiner and Wagner till they can't stand.

This is Iowa's very clear advantage. Tyler Flack is a decent defender and rebounder but there is no way that Hagedorn, Burch-Manning, and Sparks can consistently defend Iowa's post players.

After the BTT, maybe Fran needs to ask Pete whether he wants to play. No reason why the Hawks shouldn't win on their home court. We need to feed Cook and Pemsl as often as possible.

Feed the post until they stop it.. then feed it some more. Dump a kick out once in a while to an open Jok or Jbo but just pound them on the inside. I know Fran will like to run like he tried to do against Indiana but I think this is a mistake. Just control the ball limit turnovers and pound it. No need to bomb threes. We should win this by 10.
