SpaceX Starship 8 lost 4 of 6 engines; started a death spiral; things going well for first 8 minutes

But seriously, all these flights and airports impacted. That is time and money wasted because of SpaceX launching out of Texas. SpaceX should be responsible for compensating everyone.
Yes, and the airports that were closed, Miami, Ft Lauderdale, and Orlando have pretty high volume of traffic. My guess is that smaller airports were closed as well, but in and of itself, those three are pretty major.

But, hey, MAGA is okay with that because it’s St Elmo.

Well…that’s the plan now. Just a few years ago Elon’s plan was to send a crew in 2024 (“if lucky”) or 2026 (“highly confident”).

Forgot to mention Elon’s claim of a million humans living on Mars in 20 years.

Well let’s get started.

He can begin with the MAGA rednecks on drugs and receiving social services.

He can promise them a wonderful life.

I hope the next one impacts on top of Mar A Lardo.

I am no Musk fan, he is a dick, but he is getting billions to be a major part of the US space program. I want this to work.

the main booster worked great and landed back with a catch by the tower.

About 8-9 minutes in 4 of 6 StarShip engines went out and the vehicle started to tumble out of control.

Unfortunately and not sure why they cut the video feed. I would have like to have seen them try to rescue it or see it tumble into the atmosphere. Are they afraid of showing that?

Hell, we have had worse crashes than that.
I watched the launch. They were about 20 seconds from when they were supposed to shut down...didn't quite make it and it spun out of control.

They'll do more math and try again I guess. The catch is still pretty amazing nonetheless.

There's also a part that still gets discarded into the Indian Ocean as well and they talked about next incorporating that into the booster so it can be returned as well.

More efficient space travel is an excellent goal, hopefully it works better soon.

You don’t think there are more important things to worry about, than getting to mars?

I don't care about mars. There's value in what we can do in space even if it never goes further than orbiting earth, and making it cost 5 million or less instead of $90 million or whatever is well worth it

You should be responsible for repaying all taxpayers for your HIV and antidepressant medication.

There are but we can fix the important things if we stop giving tax breaks and so many loopholes to very rich people.

Going to Mars and feeding the poor can both be done, f##k the rich people. Way too many billionaires not doing anything good with their money

Way too many people think the billionaires are sitting on ‘money’ instead of claiming ownership in businesses that other investors consider extremely valuable property.

It’s like you think Elon’s hundreds of billions in net worth came to him as income, and not as ownership - ownership isn’t taxed.
