KF, hires a guy to coach special teams and this is what we get. It cost all the time with having to drive the long field. Rastetter shouldn't even be on the time, he SUCKS. I can't believe on a roster of 105 players that their is not one person who can judge a punt and catch it.

It really is difficult to accept that a program of Iowa’s caliber can’t seem to find a guy who can punt it at least 40 yards consistently. UW is kicking our butts in every phase of the game, but a competent punter would have at least kept us competitive longer in this one. It’s just a kick in the nuts when your field position has been awful all game, you finally punt it from midfield, and you can’t get it inside the 25. Not to mention getting it out of your own end when your offense can’t do squat.
A good punter can make a much bigger difference than many realize, and a weak punting game can kill you more than many realize. Our punting game alone has cost us well over 100 yards of field position in this one. Pretty much gives you no chance when your offense is laying an egg.

I do hope we are looking for a punter for next year, it has truly been a glaring weakness this season.
