"As a parent, 90% of the time you will ever spend with your kids happen during their first 18 years."

Took the daughter to a concert tonight at Billy Bob's Texas. I recognize there will soon be a time when she'll no longer prefer to do things with me, so I'm getting in as much as I can, while I can!

For reference, it was the Josh Abbott Band.

Yordy here, wants to spend lots of time with any of America's grandchildren...thanks, Dims! >

Let you all know on a little secret. That isn’t a secret

You can’t control you child’s significant other. This younger gen of sig others are very difficult to get along with and ghosting is real. A whole gen of parents are going through this if you aren’t already.

And their sig others parents don’t play nice.

Ours must be the exception to that. My connection to my son in law is Hawkeye sports. We watch almost every game together and prior to 2020 we had season tickets together for football…and now a connection with my 6 year old grandson as he is starting to watch games with us as well…

I understand the calculation, but I can tell you that I have spent more high quality time with my dad after I turned 18. Yes, the sheer amount of time is much less, but the quality of that time is high.

I had all my kids. 6 of them and 8 grandkids over the holidays. Many of our friends did not. Just get help.
Lighten up dude. I was only half joking, but you should at least consider maybe your perceived “problem” with younger people is you.
