Spring Break in Aspen Snowmass lodging tips/suggestions

Thinking about switching it up this year and heading to spring break in the Aspen area.
Never been to Aspen before and was wondering the best resorts/hotels to stay?

College age group. Want to be able to access the nightlife as easy as possible.
Skiing/snowboarding is not a priority.
Where do we stay?
And what are the best bars?

Aspen is a pretty bad place for college kids on spring break. more affordable lodging is in snowmass but very few bars in snowmass. tons of bars in aspen but the average age is 50. if you stay in snowmass and go to aspen for the bars you will spend $50 on a taxi to get back to snowmass.

Why would you go to Aspen if skiing/boarding isn't a priority? The nightlife isn't that good. If all you want to do is party, just go to Vegas.
