We ate some, gave the rest to some elderly neighbors who can’t fish anymore. We kept the rainbows. Threw the browns back.

Did you ever fish in a sketchy area and you ended up reeling in a dead hooker??
I caught a 21 inch small mouth bass while trolling with a worm harness... It was a hell of a fight for that size of fish.
My best is probably 18.5" which is still a nice Smallmouth.
21" is a Trophy around these parts.
Yep, 20" largemouth in Iowa is considered a Master Angler award.
No, but I stopped by a fishing spot a few years back and there was a cross there with a girl's name on it. I googled her name and found out she was murdered there by a guy with a hatchet. Smashed her head in with it. They didn't catch him at first for that. 6 mo later he slit a girl open with a razor and left her for dead with her intestines hanging out. She woke up and lived. Crazy story.

I've been out three times. Caught some bass each time, nothing to brag about though. At least no skunks.
Might go out tomorrow or Saturday.

Grew up fishing rivers and smallmouth were my favorite.
Now it's mostly lakes that don't even hold brown bass.
I was just reading the fishing report recently, I expect things to really pick up as the water levels drop from all the rain we had and temps heat up this week
Middle son caught a fat stocker rainbow a couple days ago right as we were leaving. I made a glaze with maple syrup, butter, salt and liquid smoke, and baked the gutted fish for 30 mins at 375. We all stood around the hot baking dish and picked it down to the bones with forks. Yum!
