Auger, I agree and have been hoping for such things for many years, all for naught, as BirdistheWord notes. But that doesn't mean it wouldn't be the right thing to do. Imagine the defense actually having to face the conundrum of defensing Wadley AND Mitchell or Daniels all on the same play. And add to that the possibility of CJ tossing one 60 yards over the top to Smith or Ogwo or VandeBerg or Parker or whoever. What's a defense to do?
But I fear that Iowa will, again this season, have an offense with much more potential than the coaches will allow it to realize. And that continues to be one of KF's fundamental flaws and, by job title, GD's. They have the talent to dominate opposing defenses, but they lack the basic football imagination and instinct to do it.
That thin margin of error KF seems to enjoy pointing out at every opportunity would be much wider if only he would open his offense and make the most of the talent he has collected.
But no, I won't be holding my breath...only my nose when I realize what awesome potential this Hawkeye offense has that will be left to rot.
