Since Tom has put his analysis on Recruiting ReRankings of the 2009 through 2012 classes, I decided to total them together. Rankings are for how many were under rated or over rated. Couple of caveats. Any 2 star that was given a initial 2 star to final rating of incomplete stayed a 2 star. Any 3 star given an incomplete was left as incomplete/unkown. My thinking is most 2 stars to incomplete left, probably because of lack of talent. I ignored injuries because we seldom know the true cause of a person leaving. Just my decision. So here goes the totals:
Over 4 recruiting classes: 16 players out performed their star rating, 29 under performed their rating, 40 were rated properly, and 6 were given 3 stars that did not complete eligibility. Would be interesting to see how other coaches performed (if someone did a similar analysis of their recruits).
