From the Dan Patrick show today...

Prop bet on total yards for David Montegomery this year is 775.5

Montegomery is injured and out for the year. His total yards for the year is 775

I wonder if the NFL will go through every play this year to look at his yards again.

The reason I say this is I remember one year in the 70's Mercury Morris had something like 991 rushing yards. I believe Larry Czonka had over 1,000 yards that year too.

So the NFL went through every Dolphins game play by play to see if there were any errors, and sure enough there was a backfield screen pass type play that initially was ruled a pass completion (for exactly 9 yards) that was changed to a backwards pass, therefore it was a rushing play.

Voila, 1,000 rushing yards for Morris - and the duo became the 1st NFL teammates to rush for 1,000 yards in a season.

Maybe they can back and look at the PASS that was ruled a lateral in the Chiefs v Browns game. I mean gamblers may have had PH +2.5 TD passes. Also, think of the implications of a Worthy TD reception that was ruled a run. There are also fantasy implications everywhere.

The NFL I believe now runs stat audits during the year nowadays. Pretty sure they can also receive requests from teams to review the original stat calls.

I seem to recall a stat review change had big time FFL repercussions one year, can't remember when though.
