Stocks just did something they haven't done in nearly three decades...

I am still 12-14 years away from retiring. Market going down next few years just means I am dollar cost average investing every two weeks lower to have more shares when it inevitably goes up again.

I want to know if he's willing to bet me the Dow will be at 58,500 at the end of Trump’s term. How is that being inept?

Your lack of knowledge and understanding with respect to points vs percentage as well as you wanting to wager on future earnings. You're out of your depth and it shows.

I understand it fine. I want him to acknowledge the percentage gains will be lower when the starting point is much higher even when the points gained is greater.

For example, if Northern raised his IQ by 10%, he would get to 99. If I raised mine 9%, mine would be 152.5. At the end of the day, which of us had the larger gain?

You've made it way too difficult for the intelligence challenged Radical Right to understand.

Ask something simpler...like "do you need to take off your shoes and socks to count to twelve"?

By percentage, yes. By points gained, no.
Wow, you have just demonstrated how percentages work. You want a medal? What matters to your portfolio the percentage increase or the magnitude of the point increase? If I have to answer that for you, you need to go to cash right now as you are out of your league investing.

You do realize that the OP/ this thread is referring to the total cumulative gains of the market over the past two years, right?
Yes. People are trying to credit Biden so wouldn't a better assessment of his effect on the market involve the entire duration of his term as President? Otherwise you are cherry picking to make a point that otherwise cant be made without it.

And you just demonstrated numbers aren't your friend. (Words aren't either)

Because it was reported that he soiled himself in front of other world leaders and that's a problem. Thankfully the markets like the return of trump. The trump bump is in full effect.
Obsessing over an 80-year-old man's bowel movements is gross and weird. Get some help.

History will record things much differently than you perceive them.

Thanks Biden, we will miss you buddy.
He won't miss us, though.

There's nothing weird about being concerned over the optics of your country's "leader". Biden crapping himself on the world stage in front of other world leaders is not a good image for the US at all. You're coping.
