The guy would do anything to win. He wants to compete he can move and has a strong arm. Let Lester coach him up and let’s ****ing go get it next year.

I'm sold his throwing has vastly improved but he has to take care of himself and get DOWN next season or he won't make it long.
yeah he's got the fire and legs to go with it. decent thrower. with him there even moulton and jazz are picking up yardage. the OL is still allowing penetration but doesn't end up looking as horrible as they used to either. win win win.
Hard not to root for if you can accept a little risk here and there.

Weelll, that didn't age well. Seriously, your looking at a guy that's in his 5th year? He has some physical skills, BUT a long way to go in the mental parts of the game. There were several plays again today where he had more time and just would NOT let the play develop and took off running, or had guys open and never saw them. He had several role outs where he could not get his body into a throwing position to make any kind of an accurate throw. He's almost more of an LB or big safety playing QB. Lester has a LOT of work to do to get him, Stratton or Brown ready for next season.
This guy is a good QB for a series or two to mix things up.

Sorry, but he did not play well at all in the second half, and he's still looking to run first when he gets any pressure instead of stepping up or to the side. He also can NOT throw the ball on the move worth a damn...

This just shows the depths our QB play has reached the past few seasons. The Iowa offense is still very, very much broken.
The line was still pretty good running the ball. Led the B1G in rushing for the first time in 64 years, and #28 and #9 had about 170yds, not bad. Struggled in pass pro, and we really missed Jones (for those who crap on him all the time). The shot gun snaps were low ALL day....
Sullivan is better than some we’ve had recently, but I think an open competition for QB1 would be best.
Thats one play. He takes tool long to decide, and when he does decide quickly, he runs, and guys are breaking open down field. Tell me your watching the same guy role out and throwing the ball off target...

Well this is Lesters show now. He's is responsible for every QB on the roster as of now. He got the guys he wanted. Time to find the guy, and coach him up in his system.....

Seems to me that throwing the ball on 3rd and short was more of the issue.
The biggest issue with Sully is lack of poise. The lights seem too bright. He needs to improve.
And why didn't he? Did he forget how to play at halftime? Here's a hint: the gawd damn play calling. It was ludicrous. It was vintage KF. If Lester really called those plays the second half, he should be fired too. Iowa had Missouri on the run because Iowa was mixing up the play calls and actually throwing the ball down the field. Then they stopped trying anything, which is exactly what most of us feared would happen.
Coaching lost this game, plain and simple. Parker NEVER blitzed all damn day. Who in their right mind expects DBs and LBs to cover for 5, 6, 7, 8 seconds all day long? The players played hard and well enough to win. The coaches, especially in the second half, were beyond pathetic. And you wonder why Iowa can't get guys outta the portal? It ain't the money . . .

I guess I’d start with the rest of the QBs on the roster. What’s the point of them being there if you’re not going to at least take a look at them. I don’t really get the impression that Ferentz is all that impressed with Sullivan as a player. If one of the other guys is more of an “on script” QB then I’d expect Ferentz to take a serious look at him. Even if it’s to the detriment of the team.
Sullivan had a great first half. He was completely ineffective in the second half. Looked very rattled. The oline didn't help him. They were terrible as well. Backup center ought to be able to snap the ball accurately.

i would be interested in seeing the team do what they did with sully early in the year. qb inside the 10 and see if Brown can be a better version of Cade… but still doesn’t seem overly promising
