I was in the “there is no way that Bohannon grad transfers next year” boat around the time of his announcement. However, I did not anticipate that Fredrick would continue as to emerge as he has, or that Toussaint would continue to improve/develop as he has.
I still think that there would be a lot of value in Jordan finishing out his career as a Hawkeye, and a fantastic opportunity for him to be a part of one of Iowa’s best teams in a long time, but would no longer be surprised if he decides to go elsewhere. His role on next year’s team would be dramatically reduced from years’ past
I agree 100%, though I also think that Toussaint continues to improve dramatically as a scorer, and that improved defense is what would turn Iowa from a good team to a great team. Their offense is already elite. Regardless of what lineups Fran puts on the court, it’s difficult to deny that having Bohannon back would be a great thing for next year’s Iowa teamBohannon in place of Touissant in the starting lineup is an unguardable offensive squad. McCaffery in the pick and role with Garza surrounded by three big time shooters. There's only so much room for Iowa to improve on that end next season, but it becomes a really easy game with that lineup. Teams are either going to guard Garza one on one or scramble to rotate to cover all of our shooters.
Starting five is correct. So something like this?
JBo- Toussaint (Ulis RS)
CJ- Perkins (Murray RS)
Weezie- PMac- (Murray RS)
CMac- Nunge- Pemsl
Garza- Nunge- Ogundele
There is no such thing as having too many guards these days. Hell, Baylor has played four at the same time this year.

Especially in the last 30 seconds of a tie game!If we had Jbo, this team could win it all.
Jordon BahannanWho TF is Jordon?!?!?!
Iowa already has the best offense in the conference.
But not in the country
In terms of Bohannon’s value as a guy who knocks down clutch shots and makes free throws down the stretch, others have risen to the occasion and helped fill those roles.
Where the Hawks could really use him is scoring depth, so we could avoid the bench lineups that have no scoring capability. It’s frustrating having Evelyn, Connor, Fredrick, Pemsl, and Kriener out there at the same time, just hoping that they can either hold the lead or not go down big
But if that’s one of my biggest frustrations, then the Hawks must be having a pretty good year haha
I think that’s exactly what the strategy is. Basically, hold on for a few minutes of game time while the starters rest up, then throw them back in to take over again. It’s an unfortunate effect of the injuries the Hawks have faced this year, but I agree the strategy in general. It still makes me anxious to watch hahaI wonder if Fran thinks it's too easy to defend us even if we keep one of our "big three" on the court, that he figures just bite the bullet and hope we don't lose too much ground and then put all three back in. Just a thought.
Top 5 Nationally right now and trending up.But not in the country
Iowa is first in the B10 in offensive efficiency, OSU is second. The gap between Iowa and OSU is the same as between OSU and 10th place Minnesota. So yes, our offense is good now.
I still expect him back, but if he does think about transferring, UNI is a tempting situation, they are going to be a borderline top 25 preseason team next year with Green, Phyfe and Berhow coming back. Bohannon could step into Halderman's starting spot and play big minutes there.
