He's in the transfer portal but marked "do not contact" which means his decision has likely already been made. ASU is what everyone assumes. What about he wrestles 133 and let Desanto redshirt.
Contact him anyway!!! He doesn't like it??? Let Spencer Lee whoop his ass again!!!!He's in the transfer portal but marked "do not contact" which means his decision has likely already been made. ASU is what everyone assumes.
A dirtball.
The sooner he uses up his eligibility the better.
If you want him, you can have hi
Rivera is going back to 33!!! Maybe that had something to do with it. But it all started when they (Rutgers) brought in tomasello into the rtc. For a year. While suriano went to asu!!What's Suriano pissed off about now? Do they want him at 125 and Rivera at 133?
by all accounts from watching his career and interviews, matches he seems like a very good kid.... good sport..... gracious in defeat to Spencer..... who knows why he can’t seem to settle in one spot..... I could see ASU being an enjoyable place to go to school...
I’d like to see the Hawks add ASU to our schedule. It would bring a huge crowd depending on the date.
125-Lee vs. Courtney-NCAA finals rematch
133-Desanto vs. Suriano-always fun
141-Eireman vs. Vasquez-almost a Hawk/McGee AA 133
149-Murin vs. Cooks-NCAA qualifier
157-Young vs. Teemer- #11 seed finished 4th last year.
165-Marinelli vs. Valencia last years #2 seed, finished 8th.
174-Kem vs. Munoz
184-Brands vs. Belshay
197-Warner vs. Norfleet last years #3 seed didn’t place
285-Cass vs. Schultz-Cass beat him 2x at NCAA’s last year. would be one helluva dual and it brings Perry back to town.
Crooks is no longer at asu. He is at Oregon st. Parco AA from Fresno transferred in. Not sure if he is a 41 or 49lber.I’d like to see the Hawks add ASU to our schedule. It would bring a huge crowd depending on the date.

Lol As soon as he’s hurt? Wow…I think it’s funny that you’re getting rumors that suriano, vito, and even Fix are thinking about going 125 now that they know Lee has two bum knees lol. He ran everyone off and made 125 easy as hell and as soon as he’s hurt the vultures start circling.
Wait Vito wrestled a weight different then 125?I think it’s funny that you’re getting rumors that suriano, vito, and even Fix are thinking about going 125 now that they know Lee has two bum knees lol. Suriano and Desanto looks to be the only tossup. But if it is in Carver, Id lean shut out.could be good dual, could be a shut-out
Not true. ASU is a factor tooSuriano is looking at Ohio St and Iowa St they're the main players as of now
OhioNot true. ASU is a factor too
So many rumors right now. Can’t predict who is the favorite. Ohio st. Iowa st and asu are on the top of the list but. There is a couple of other schools that aren’t far off!!! East coast talk is on fire right now!!! LolSuriano is looking at Ohio St and Iowa St they're the main players as of now
Two things are for sure. It’s not Iowa or psu!!!Ohio

I said main players. Not saying ASU is totally out but they're not as involved as the other two currently. Not true. ASU is a factor too
Except in big tens in 2019 (or 20, cant remember) when he was constantly trying to start stuff with desanto. Every chance he got he would get an extra shove in, just begging desanto to lose his cool. Might not have looked as bad on TV, but in person (like 5 rows away) it was terrible.I get that people get pissed when a guy leaves their school...losing a talent like him sucks. I also get that he might have a helicopter Dad who has a rep for being difficult. But you are correct...I don't remember Suriano being a D Bag on the mat. Always seems to keep it classy.
To be fair - DeSanto screamed in his face at the dual in Carver that year after upsetting him. Suriano was fired up in a big way for the rematch and exacted his revenge. Then Suriano and DeSanto had a good conversation during the handshake and have both said great things about each other since then. I give Suriano a pass for that one.Except in big tens in 2019 (or 20, cant remember) when he was constantly trying to start stuff with desanto. Not a big Suriano fan, those east coasters are a different breed.

I'm just excited as hell for a potential rubber match between the two, depending on where Suriano ends up and hoping it's at 133
Rutgers did not bring in Tomasello for a year. In the fall of 2019, Tomasello went to train at Rutgers for a week, and Suriano did not handle it well, had a hissy fit, and then did not attend practices the remainder of the week....Rivera is going back to 33!!! Tomasello spent the remainder of 2019-2020 at tOSU, had a couple more knee surgeries in spring of 2020, and went to coach at Duke for the 2020-2021 season. In May, Tomasello moved to Norman OK, to train full time at Oklahoma RTC (Lou Roselli was his coach his first three years at Ohio State - rs, rs fresh, soph).
Suriano does handle himself well on the mat, but the drama does appear to follow him wherever he goes. With that said, I think even the naysayers (myself included) for teams on his radar will change their tune and embrace him once he shows up on campus and starts winning matches.
I don't even think Tomasellow went to Rutgers. He was at Princeton (Reece invited him) for the NJRTC which was shared by Rutgers and Princeton at the time.Rutgers did not bring in Tomasello for a year. might want to get off that high horse and remember Eierman and Desanto transferred in and Spencer is one of the most visible athletes taking advantage of NIL, as he should be. none of those things are bad.Thinking about Nick Suriano and the others currently in the NCAA wrestling transfer portal, and those wrestlers currently checking their NIL endorsement accounts. An old, but certainly not forgotten, thought comes to mind. The University of Iowa wrestling is all about building a wrestling team, not buying a wrestling team. Reference, see the July 20 edition of the Milwaukee Bucks.
And for those of you who are on their way up for a great vacation in Title-Town, Milwaukee is a nice stopover.
I’m no fan of Suriano. Can’t stand the Jersey schtick. But if he wants to come to ISU I’ll slip a few bucks to his NIL.Winning cures all...especially if its just for one year.
You're not wrong, I'm all for suriano being fired up and wanting to take it to Austin for the questionable things Austin did to him at Carver, but his actions came across more as Suriano trying to get Austin to do something stupid and get disqualified more than physical wrestling. Once again have no problem with him trying to get shots in and get even, but his actions seemed more tactical than passionate to me.To be fair - DeSanto screamed in his face at the dual in Carver that year after upsetting him. I agree, nobody could replace Desanto. He is Hawk wrestling at its best. Just hope he hangs around after graduation and teaches his style. You're not wrong, I'm all for suriano being fired up and wanting to take it to Austin for the questionable things Austin did to him at Carver, but his actions came across more as Suriano trying to get Austin to do something stupid and get disqualified more than physical wrestling. Also Suriano can win all he wants, I'd take a desanto 3rd over national title from suriano any day. With desantos bonus points and suriano being one of the most boring dudes on the planet their team points would probably be damn near equal.
Just FYI, the last year both competed Desanto was about 40% bonus and Suriano at 60%.You're not wrong, I'm all for suriano being fired up and wanting to take it to Austin for the questionable things Austin did to him at Carver, but his actions came across more as Suriano trying to get Austin to do something stupid and get disqualified more than physical wrestling. No kidding?Just FYI, the last year both competed Desanto was about 40% bonus and Suriano at 60%.
The Fix matches definitely color a lot of people's perception of Suriano. He scores a lot of points and smashes everybody outside the top 10. He tends to have very controlled 2-3 takedown decisions against top 10 guys which is what most people remember. No kidding?
Would be interesting to see tech fall/pin vs major. Maybe he just shuts it down big time against good competition, all I can think of is the fix suriano match and many other matches that seem really boring.
That being said, I'd still bet big money on desanto outbonusing Suriano at nationals.
Yes, it was officially a NJ RTC practice situation, and I believe it was in Rutgers' room. Tomasello was there a week and Suriano made things very awkward and threw a fit. So much so Suriano's dad sent an email after one practice to the coaches complaining and explaining why Nick would not be participating in anymore practices that week. This was several weeks out from the 2019 US Nationals in Fort Worth (where Lee beat Tomasello in the finals).I don't even think Tomasellow went to Rutgers. He was at Princeton (Reece invited him) for the NJRTC which was shared by Rutgers and Princeton at the time.

This is one ISU story that Mitch and I can agree onISU mentioned...LOL.
