BANG...What a recruiting weekend!!! With all the positive recruiting news, I believe Iowa will keep momentum rolling. So far Ohio State, Minnesota, Michigan, and Wisconsin all have commits for the 2020 class. Thinking ahead, what are your thoughts regarding the first commit for #Swarm20 and the class overall?

My Top 3 Choices to Commit Early:
1. Josh Volk (OG from Iowa)
2. Tyler Elsbury (OG from Illinois)
3. Michael Lois (SDE from Wisconsin)

Realistic Targets on Offense
QB: Duece Hogan
RB: Peny Boone
RB #2: Gavin Williams
WR: Abdur-Rahmaan Yaseen
WR: David Baker
TE: Elijah Yelverton
TE #2: Maliq Carr (OV last week and hybrid TE/WR)
TE #3: Sam Daugstrup (Just a hunch as I have no inside information)
OL: Josh Volk
OL: Tyler Elsbury
OL: Tyler MIller

Realistic Targets on Defense
DL: Logan Jones
DL: Denver Warren
SDE: Michael Lois
SDE: Logan Wilson
DB: Craig McDonald
S: Antonio Johnson
LB: (I don't see a realistic shot with any of the offers for 20' yet)

If anyone has any information or names to add to the list please do. Looking to get discussion going regarding #Swarm20. As most know, the recruiting cycle is becoming more rapid every year. I would love to hear your thoughts on next years class. This weekend reminded me that Iowa recruiting can be quite fun when they get on a roll. Go Hawks....let's keep it going!

Denver Warren just announced his top 5 today and it did not included Iowa. Logan Jones and Volk as Iowa kids seem likely. I do think we have a great shot with Hogan, but Boone is likely to blow up into a blue chipper as he is already on the rivals250 for 2020.

Thanks for the response and insight Harbinger. I missed the Warren announcement today. I did see this tweet regarding Boone the other day. I know it is early, but you got to love seeing him rock the Black and Gold.

Would be nice to get Deuce Hogan to commit early and I think there is a real chance of that. Ezra has been very vocal in talking with the other recruits but a QB doing some recruitting would be awesome. Some W's on Saturdays in the fall will help.

keep an eye out for this player.
Adam Chaney out of Alabama, 6'2 220 lb ATH can play RB or LB'r when I saw his name they coaches are interested in him at RB. this would go back to type of Nick Bell, Gill, Hudson and Jeremy Allen sized backs that did quite well at Iowa.
put him behind a big OL and look out.

this is why I am looking forward to seeing Giel.

Fwiw I think Sargent was brought in specifically to allow Geil to RS. Get him bigger/faster/stronger and let him kick butt in 2019.

Iowa takes at least 1 and maybe 2 RB's.

247 lists him at 6'2 225 lbs. just saying he is one to watch in the 2020 class with RB Coach Foster recruiting this kid.
Alabama would be another state to start getting kids out of,

Regarding Sargent ... pretty much my sentiment too. It gives the Hawks a boost in terms of a guy who has "experience" insofar that he saw a large number of touches last year. It also allows a bit more staggering of the classes in terms of eligibility .... and could allow us a bit of a thunder and lightning between Geil and Goodson (maybe I'm counting my chickens here).

It's worth noting that one of the truly exciting things about Gavin Williams is that he's truly a versatile RB. He has nice size ... but he's also really good at catching the ball out of the backfield. I sincerely hope that we land him. It seems like the Cyclones have done a good job of developing relationship with him though.

247 crystal balls has him 67% to ISU and 33% to Iowa, as long as he stays instate I am happy with that.

I am reading about Peny Boone from Michigan that likes the Hawks.

I wonder how much the staff has looked into OT prospect Sam Rengert out Milford Center Ohio for the 2020 class? Good sized kid considered to be a solid prospect in Ohio.
