Just wondering if perhaps Snyder or the staff has thoughts of moving to LB next year...1) to get Geno Stone on the field sooner and 2) given the inexperience at LB after losing Niemman/Bower/Josey to graduation. I still think there's a decent chance Miles Taylor moves back to the two line and Hooker and Snyder are starting by November.

I like the idea of putting him in Neimans spot. I highly doubt they do it but we already have a second-string linebacker that was a safety previously

We do really need to upgrade the athleticism with some of the teams we are playing

As I read this it dawned on me that Amani Hooker would be better suited for that position. He's more mobile than Snyder. This I'll say for sure, we have some talent at safety. Stone, Hooker, Clayborn, Taylor, Gervais.

We have some linebackers who will step up too. Ain't one of us who doesn't know this is in our staff's planning.

Changing personnel, just one more thing that makes college football so much fun.;)

Hooker is a stud.

Our starting safeties next year will be Snyder and Hooker...it might even be this year. Snyder will be the ss.

I wonder about guys like Geno Stone and even clayberg. (i think stone is going to be much better than clayberg)

Wonder where he fits in. It would be really nice too have a little bit lighter and faster linebackers when we are playing so many teams that like to try and make us play in space.

Michigan State and Wisconsin are really the only power teams we play that you benefit from having a bigger player at the outside linebacker position but they also utilize a lot of jet sweeps and schemes to get guys in space

Welch is 6'3 232 lbs and looks to Jewells replacement and will be a JR
Nick Niemamn is 6'4 220 lbs and will be a SO who looks to be the replacement for Ben
Mends is 6'0 220 lbs will be a SR who looks to be replacing Bower,

these are waiting in the wings
Taylor RSSO 6'0 225 lbs
Hockaday SR 6'1 232 lbs
Wade a converted RB 6'1 223 lbs a RSSO next season
Colbert a converted S 6'1 215 lbs Red Shirting this fall
Campos 6'1 213 lbs red shirting
Sobotka 6'3 235 lbs will be a SR.

good range of size with speed, Ben Niemamn was a converted WR.

This is an interesting thought. I know I said Snyder will be our starting ss next year or even this year at some point. But the kid is massive, seeing him on the sidelines, and if Stone is that good, who knows. I don't think it's probable but interesting considering our need at lber next year.
