Going to try bringing the grill, this weekend.

What's a good grilling meat for the middle of day?

(Lunch before the BOOM at legendary Kinnick stadium)

I've become a fan of the sausage fatty. Keep this in mind for an 11am kickoff (Allow 30-40 minutes of grill time after prep). Take 1.5 tubes of jimmy dean sausage (hot, sage, maple, it all works! DO NOT get a cheaper substitute). put it in a gallon ziploc, and roll it flat...well, here this video shows it better (with 70's porn music!)

If grilling for a lot of people go with smaller, bites of meat that cook quickly. Grab some top sirloin or ribeye and pre-cut.

Also, grab a couple bunches of asparagus, lemon pepper, and olive oil. Wrap in aluminum foil with a little olive oil, generous sprinkling of lemon pepper, and throw on grill. These are great if looking to attract women to your tailgate. They work better than a puppy.

Saturday I'm going with some grilled Italian sausages on a toasted hoagie with charred red peppers, onions with fresh mozzarella and marinara.

For 11:00 am games however I buy some cinnamon Dutch apple sausages on a toasted hoagie, cheese, a scrambled egg and a little Valentina hot sauce.

At home, take the brats and boil them in beer. Then at the tailgate, slap them on the grills. Tastes great and makes sure that they are done all the way through.
Agree.. but don't boil them, simmer instead.

Doing pork butt for sandwiches and 10lbs chicken wings for Ia St. Doing them at home and then heating them up when we get there, more time for games and socializing.

Looks like an interesting take on scotch eggs--will give this a try...
