Take a look: Iowa’s state auditor makes a light-hearted pitch for reelection

We don’t feature many ads from state auditor candidates, but this one from Rob Sand, a Democrat seeking reelection in Iowa, caught our eye. The 30-second spot pays homage to the television series “The Office.”
Sand, who took office in 2019, considered running for Iowa governor this year but decided instead to seek reelection.

I appreciate Rob Sand, he has a good sense of humor for a state level bureaucrat. He's definitely the best Iowa State Auditor since David Vaudt left, which isn't really saying much except that Mosiman sucked, terribly.

He’s not gonna be gone this cycle. My guess is he’s waiting for the political winds to some day drift back towards the middle in Iowa and maybe take a shot at governor or US Senate.

Probably a ways away though given we’re essentially Mississippi in terms of redness.
