Tariff threats getting real now

As expected, this is more meaningless saber rattling from Trump. He’ll, of course, flip flop on this, and the MIB will fap to it and tell us Trump is playing next-level chess we just can’t appreciate.

In fact, Trump knows so much about chess strategy that even Bobby Fischer is impressed right now.

I get that the economy ebbs and flows over the course of an administration and many times these things are out of the control of a president. But to see a President purposely create such uncertainty and instigate economic conflict is something I’m not sure we’ve ever had in our history.

I have to wonder… even diehard righties have retirement accounts, 401(k)s, other investments, don’t they? Are they not paying attention?

Crypto has been tanking just as hard. The 2 seem to actually move pretty much in synch with one another and have for quite some time.

I think the Putin take is more likely now that I am convinced Trump is a Russian asset. He is trying to destroy our relationship with our long time allies.

Another obvious one is tanking the markets so his buddies can buy up once they close their short positions.

Me personally. I think it is most likely because all he cares about right now is getting a nice fat tax cut for the wealthy and he needs to have the money coming from somewhere. So, he will tax the shit out of you and I in the disguise of tariffs. His idiot base will have no idea.

Other than those, I have no idea. It is truly bizarre. The stock market was his baby last term and he just doesn't seem to care this time. Unfortunate.

There doesn't seem to be as many of them on the board lately. I will tell you this, I work in the securities industry and a majority of my Trump supporters are not happy right now.

The only thing I can think of..... the markets were primed for a correction and he's trying to force that correction/recession NOW, rather than waiting.

Despite the daily downward trend, the market is begging for a rally on ANY good news. So he keeps hammering with his tariff hammer to push it down.

Or he's just a lunatic and tariffs are his new favorite toy.

Yeah, but that's not as bad as contemplating having been maybe a tad bit wrong on Trump for the last decade, and not even close to being as bad as Dems/libs/left/commie/socialists being a degree of right about Trump.
 
Anyone considering purchasing a strategic reserve? I might have to buy a case of Fernet Branca, a few bottles of Campari, at least another couple of Cointreau or Gran Marnier.

The wine doesn't really bother me. Basically Italian amaros and French liqueurs.

Trump loves coke and pills. I actually believe he doesn't drink but it doesn't mean he's not high all the time.
 
Trump really wants to tariff Canadian fentanyl that is “imported”? I can’t really see the mules filling out all the necessary paperwork or getting the proper stamps.
