I assumed you were being sarcastic based on your posts in the other thread. If you are not, then of course the EU would not impose this tax on their own people had Trump not started a tariff war. But they have to respond in some way.

I don't know of any time anyone has ever denied that a retaliatory tariff is not a tax. It is. It seems you're just stretching to find a way to not admit Trump's tariffs are stupid, and are causing nothing but chaos and ill-will.
