I guess the acting tough bit is just not for me. Show your real emotion and stop pretending. I honestly don't see any advantage to the not smiling mindset. It is not intimidating, in fact its a little goofy to me. Maybe if they smiled it would show them how good it feels to be on top thus giving them motivation to work harder and be on top at nationals
FYI I also think the mustashes are dumb and I hate how Iowa guys always run off the Mat when getting their hand raised.

I thought you were a dumbass the other day when you said I was a fu@$ing moron, you just removed all doubt. Name one guy on Iowas team that is happy about 2nd place. None of them were conference champs. If you think any of those guys are happy with 2nd place then you have no idea about Iowa wrestling.

Just sayin........
Oh and GO HAWKS and bring back a national title amirite?......right?...Anyone?)

If you were an Iowa wrestler you would understand why they aren't smiling. Let's hope they are smiling in St. Louis. Take a look at some of the NCAA championship pictures when the Hawks won the title - you will see some guys not smiling. Hmm wonder why.Originally posted by Hawk_82:

Who says it is an act or that they are pretending to not be happy? Maybe they are truly disappointed that they didn't do better? We didn't have a single champ, so that means that all 10 wrestlers could have done better. One more win, one more bonus pt, one less loss or bonus pt given up to an OSU wrestler would have made the difference in winning the tournament and not (which is how the team views a tie).Originally posted by Hawk_82:

I don't disagree totally with some of your points but who in that photo do you think should be smiling? The four finalists lost their shot at being champs. Jeba got teched and probably felt like if he'd just got majored they win it outright. Kelly and Moore laid an egg. Brooks lost after being the #1 seed. I don't see any of the other guys being happy about not being champions...Clark, Evans, Burak? They all hoped to be champs.
I get what you're saying, I just think they honestly probably feel they all underachieved.
go back and check who called you out. It wa not me, it was a poster with a very similar name.Originally posted by WEH8ST8HAWK:

I can't disagee with any of this. None of them had a good reason to be excited other than winning the tourney. I would compare this to a quarterback, they might throw 3 ints in a game but you dont see them frowning on the sidelines until they win the superbowl. They have to have a short memory in order to succeed. I think this might apply to our wrestlers as well.Originally posted by Huck:

It was me, but you are still stupid for the crap you spewed here about the "never smile."Originally posted by Hawk_82:

This is just an awful post. I was there and can tell you not a single fan, coach or wrestler were smiling and for good reason. Fans went there to watch Iowa win the title. The wrestlers went there to win individual titles. Neither happened and tying with a guy like Tom Ryan was terrible. The rest of your garbage doesn't deserve a response.Originally posted by Hawk_82:
