Per College Football Report: What follows is the Power 4 college football team talent rankings entering the 2024 season.

Per Chris Hassel, this is based off recruiting rankings at 24/7 Sports. Iowa State only has ONE 4-star. No other Power 4 conference team has fewer than four.

Crazy how much more successful we are compared to around 15 or so programs in front of us. Especially Purdue and little debbie considering how bad they both are.

Miami and A & M always top 10 and every years seems like finishing 7-5 or 6-6 if not worse.

A&M has big recruiting advantages but has not had the right coaches to develop players and create a winning culture. Jimbo was very emotional and undisciplined.

Exactly. Kinda makes this ranking useless. Some 4 star riding the pine somewhere is worth more then the nation's leading tackler?

I’m suggesting after Iowa has more kids in the NFL from the current squad than 30 of the teams in front of them five years from now.

So, this ranking is based on what kids did in high school. Got it.

Hassel has hopefully signaled the end of the silly season with a final worthless set of rankings.

Thank God games kick off today, starting with FSU v GTech this morning. Thursday should be fun too with N Carolina @ Minnesota as well as N Dakota State @ Colorado.

it is pretty amazing to see our low talent ranking when at the same time many consider Iowa making the 12 team CFP

These rating services clearly aren't perfect and KF and PP get the players they want and develop them into a team

Yeah, why don't they show how many teams have players in the NFL when putting together this list. OR here, we are 12th. a look at each list tells you all you need to know. Pretty easy to crack the top 10 in NFL players when you are top 10 in recruiting stars. I don't know that "Iowa never recruits well". I guess you can make that statement based on recruiting ranking solely. Many years they do a very solid job of recruiting players that fit their system and will develop accordingly. Of course these recruiting services don't have a crystal ball to see what these players will become once the work takes place. You could sit here a loonngg time going over players they've recruited who exceeded those services rankings and went on to be all conference and AA players in a league featuring OSU, M, and PSU.....

Yes. Based on recruiting rankings, Iowa does not recruit well. Usually middle of the big or worse. There was a thread on this board claiming we were last in the big. We won't finish last.
