Have a friend whose son owns a Tesla. He told me over the weekend the Tesla is now sitting in the garage.

Too many threats (including Maga folk) of mostly vandalism but a few physical threats have made it just easier to lay low as a Tesla customer.

Anyone else experience or heard anything?

That'll go away. There was about a 6 month span when idiots were doing the same thing to SUV's because of Global Warming. Then they just moved on to the next thing.

I wouldn't want to own a Tesla right now. Too much stigma tied to it with the little Nazi that is running around our government institutions like the Treasury and siphoning up data with no oversight.
Thinking about selling my old S but guessing the market is going to shit for them now - won't be buying another Tesla.

It’s a piece of shit tin can with a nazi tag on it. Probably right up your alley.

I wouldn’t want to be seen in one of those things right now. My opinion of Tesla has completely changed over the last 12 months.
Well I watched one of those tin cans maintain it's cabin structure as a cement truck went up on its trunk and ended up with its front bumper in the back window of the tesla.

I'm not exactly the tesla type but that was impressive engineering.

Your opinion 180'd when he came out in support of trump? I'm shocked!

Or how the cyber truck ate that explosion at trump tower. Another vegas terror attack swept under the rug btw.

I have been. Funny response though.

The day I watched that cement truck rear-end the tesla in Waukee was the day I became open to tesla. That car took that hit better than my Tundra would likely have.
The only problem with that is if the battery got even the slighted ding, it will need to be replaced and the car will be totaled. That's the number one reason these cars will not make ecological sense to build, they need to stay on the road to reach carbon neutral.

That I agree with, you will often find me discussing the fossil fuels we burn to get these eco friendly fuels.

That being said, there is a value in safety, that vehicle impressed the hell out of me. You can still see the grind marks at the stop light and that thing didn't crumble. Then a few weeks later there was thst story about the dude who tried to commit suicide by driving off a cliff and the tesla kept them safe in the cabin.

I have long said electric vehicles are golf carts on steroids but for the 5 mile trip to and from daycare everyday it might make sense.

My opinion of him really changed when he started throwing nazi signs out at the inauguration. That probably made him more endearing to you.

My Explorer is 5 star safety rated including rear end collisions.

One of the reasons so many law enforcement agencies use them.

You claimed originally that your opinion changed over the past year and now you're defaulting to a hoax that is literally weeks old lol talk about changing your story halfway through 😂

Interesting discussion. I did the numbers comparing solar to ethanol for energy. You can produce over 200 times the BTU from solar per acre with solar, over corn ethanol and that's using conservative numbers on the solar. That is without the fossil fuels to plant and harvest, and with out the water to produce it. A 5 acre corn field will get you nothing, a 5 acre solar farm will power 1000 homes.

Did you account for the fuel used to manufacture those?

Also, I can't eat a solar panel.

But yes, we need a long term solution. I tend to like nuclear but have wondered why we dont have prisoners building solar panels, aka learning a skill, in the desert, for years.

"Nazi salute" while saying he wanted to send his love....

Be better.
Derp. What he said has no impact on that. In fact, I think it supports the Nazi salute claim.

The only way not to think that is a Nazi salute is through some deep denial and mental gymnastics. Show a video of Hitler to a group of five year-old kids and then show them a video of Elon. I bet 98% of them say it’s the same thing.

And I bet less than 10% of these five-year-olds say this is the same thing.

You are only fooling yourselves.

How often do you eat field corn? We plant millions of acres for fuel every year.

I even pointed out that I wasn't considering the fuels to produce corn, but you want me to consider the fuel to produce solar panels?

You need 7500 solar panels for a 5 acre solar farm. Q Cells can produce 45,000 solar cells per day from the facilities in Georgia alone.
Solar wins this battle all day every day.
