Issues 20 articles of impeachment right after Paxton accused the house speaker of being drunk and said he should resign. Getting salty in Texas. LOL

It's Fox, which isn't news. So take it for what it's worth.

A Texas House of Representatives investigative committee recommended impeachment for embattled state Attorney General Ken Paxton.

The Texas House Investigative Committee unanimously voted 5-0 to adopt articles of impeachment for Paxton on Thursday, according to FOX 4.

A vote on the recommendation could come as soon as Friday.

Wasn't Paxton the one leading the charge to overturn the presidential vote in Pennsylvania? Holy shit, the hypocrisy in this guy is astounding.

For Paxton to be completely removed from office, two-thirds of state senate lawmakers would have to vote in favor of his impeachment. Reacting to the latest news, Paxton took to Twitter with a response that said, "Overturning elections begins behind closed doors.”

Later in the day, Paxton repeated his stance as he slammed the investigation, describing it as an “illegitimate attempt to overthrow the will of the people.”

Well....the GOP and Abbott has ignored a lot of things with Paxton because he's a firebrand that gets the base going. When asked what he does as AG, his usual retort is "I sue the federal government," at all the yokels go nuts. But when you try to slip a $1.3 million appropriations fund to pay off the settlement with the whistleblowers that you wrongly fired, that raises a lot of eyebrows. And I think some are just tired of him.

Isn't Paxton dodging some lawsuits. Can't remember the details but it was rather shady.

Securities fraud. Trial has been on hold for 7 years. Then he was boffing one of his assistants and (allegedly) taking bribes from a couple developer friends. A bunch of assistant AGs resigned.

So they may do the right thing only after he insulted the wrong guy? Lol

It is interesting to see the cockroaches like Ted Cruz scurry out to defend Paxton. He knows he needs the crazies in his re-election bid. Also weird that Abbott has largely been silent.
Abbot’s silence is somewhat puzzling now that Trump is throwing support for Paxton. In a civil war you have to choose a side.

He and Paxton worked hand in hand together for years. I guess he has calculated he doesn’t need him now that he is term limited? I thought Abbott would enter the POTUS race, but no rumblings as far as I can tell.

The final chapter of the GOP fear projection machine may have just hit:

What they say you should fear (terrorists, gay / trans people, child traffickers, election fraudsters, radical religious sharia law makers, big brother watching you etc. etc.) it is actually simply fearing who they actually are....

Is Ken implying he didn't stop the mail in ballots because it was the correct thing to do? But he did it to make sure Texas remained Red?

Cut to DOJ opening an investigation based on that.

If T_e_x_a_s, the second most devious state (yes, Florida, you still hold the title) impeaches an Attorney General it has to be crimes upon crimes upon crimes. And against Loony Star politicians and their good buddies.

Why do the national MAGAs care about this? Trump Jr and MTG for instance, just to never waste an opportunity to perform?
