I can see Mark Richt doing better at Miami than Al Golden-tongue as the $EC We$t is the heavyweight division of the $EC and I am laughing at Mizzou and Iowa State for their coaching selections.

Mizzou is about to be dissected and regulated to the bottom of the division as Florida, Georgia, and Tennessee seem to be the perennial big dogs of their division. Mizzou's Barry Odom does not seems to be a name that jumps out and screams "WINNER". I thought when Mizzou moved to the $EC, they crippled their football program.

Iowa State should do itself a favor and go D1--AA like UNI. ISUcc is coaching's "Death Valley". ISUcc has had 8 head coaching changes during the period that Iowa has had 2. ISUcc average coach career is around 6 years (McCarney was there for 12) and the average coaching winning percentage is around 37.5%. (153 Wins, 255 losses and 7 ties since 1979).

Other noted hires I sake my head at are Tracy Claeys at Minny and Bill Cubit at Ill-annoy. Claeys was the emotional connection hire but he seems to burn bridges fast. While I liked Jerry Kill, Kill earned his spot at Minny working up the chain. So did Glen Mason. Claeys' appointment was a rash decision, IMO. Cubit does not bring any excitement to the table and Illinois is going to remain a "basketball" school ( if that with Groce coaching).

Maryland --jury's out for now. Maryland and Virginia football programs are like Congress. Better left at recess. Rutgers -- Tony Soprano looks better than they do. Iowa could do more recruiting in New Jersey and Maryland\DC metro areas. Lomax, Marcel Joly and Miles Taylor are making a name for themselves at Iowa and the "Jersey Boys" of Wadley and Outsey are coming into their own.
