Thanks RFK

So I didn't mention this but my kids managed to hear some of RFK's comments from a few days ago.

So today my youngest had a meltdown and when we calmed him down he said that he felt as though he was ruining the family...

We of course explained to him only adults can ruin families but now my kids have it in their head that because of their diagnosis they might be ruining a family that isn't even ruined.

And IDK who the hell RFK is to be talking about ruined families he divorced his first wife and Trump has divorced twice. F*** those guys. Despite having all the privilege in the world they ruin families. We without a tenth of their privilege have been married 15 years and our only kids are with each other. We did this shit right and they've done it wrong at every turn and yet they are the ones who get to grandstand and preach to us about how families should be.

We just had to have a long talk with our kids about how only adults can ruin families even though we arn't separating or getting divorced. But they are going to for the next 4 years hear bits pieces about how their diagnosis is destroying other people's lives just by them existing.

This is why I'm not friends with Trump supporters. You all voted for this, this was a very predictable result. And my kids are old enough now that we can't hide them from every bit of news out there and the news they are going to be hearing for the next 4 years at least is that they are less than and their existence is a burden on other people's lives.

I can't imagine what it's like to have adults in charge trying to send you that message at ages 9, 10, and 11. It's worse that likely 2 of their grandparents also believe this shit.
Well, either you failed to shelter your youngest, or if you are not trying to shelter them, then you failed by blaming Trump supporters. The fact you claim not be friends with people because of who they vote for, I feel even more for your kid

Yes, autistic people do experience higher unemployment rates compared to the general population and other disability groups. Estimates suggest that up to 85% of autistic adults are unemployed. This figure is significantly higher than the unemployment rate for all disabled Americans in general. [1, 2, 3, 4]
Here's a more detailed look: [2, 2, 5, 5]
  • High Unemployment: Studies consistently show that autistic individuals face substantial challenges in securing and maintaining employment. Some estimates suggest that between 75% and 85% of autistic adults are either unemployed or underemployed. [2, 2, 3, 3, 5, 5]
  • Higher than other disabilities: Autistic individuals have the lowest employment rates among people with disabilities. For example, a 2017 report indicated that only 15% of autistic adults with college degrees are employed. [2, 2, 4, 4, 6, 6, 7]
  • Barriers to Employment: Several factors contribute to the high unemployment rate among autistic people. These include: [4, 4, 8, 8]
    • Workplace challenges: Autistic individuals may experience difficulties navigating social expectations, sensory sensitivities, and the demands of traditional work environments. [4, 4, 8, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12]
    • Lack of support: Many autistic individuals lack adequate support and resources to help them find and maintain employment. [4, 4, 8, 8]
    • Stigma and discrimination: Prejudice and misconceptions about autism can lead to discrimination in hiring and promotion decisions. [4, 4, 8, 8, 13, 14]
My son is certainly underemployed for his intelligence. He loves working with animals and tried to work through a zoo program at a local community college...then he tried to become a vet tech. Both times the stresses proved too much. He works for a dog walking company now where he takes care of pets and house-sits. He's on his own most of the time, rarely interacts with strangers, and gets requests from customers to be their exclusive pet caregiver. He's found his niche and he's happy. He's part of a group of other autistic adults who meet weekly to talk about handling the everyday activities that give them trouble. They are their own social group and go out to eat together or go to movies. It's been great for him.

Maggots have had more than enough time to wake up. Some have to their credit - including our best friends who voted Trump in 2016 and today will likely never vote Republican again in ANY race.

It's not about who they vote for, dipshit, it's about the thinking that can allow them to support Trump no matter what he does or says. The idea that they can separate that thinking from everything else in their lives is laughable. The ones left are, quite simply, fascists or apologists for fascism...which is pretty much the same thing. What I feel for you and yours is disgust for what you've done and are doing to this country.

Fear not. RFK already "knows" the cause of autism. Now it's just a matter of time before he confirms his beliefs.
He said at a recent cabinet meeting that we will know the cause of autism by September.

I just taught my kids that any time they see someone on TV to just assume they're being lied to. 🤷‍♂️

Adults will have important conversations on many topics that don't need to be heard by children,.. Neither RFK nor any other public figure is responsible for raising your children or controlling what they might listen to,... you are.
What an absolute crock of bullshit.

Bullshit

Every adult is responsible for not saying stuff by which anyone child or adult might conclude that children are the problem for simply existing or that said children are unable to do something that they clearly can do.

I don't need other people to raise my kids, I do need them to not give my kids messages that they are less than.

How would you like it if I walked up to your 9 year old and told them any problems in your family was their fault.

The thing I'd I wouldn't do that because I actually give a shit.
You’re right, Hoosier.

It’s like in the 1990s when Charles Barkley famously said, “I’m not a role model.”

Uhhhm…Charles? You’re a goddamn grown person and in the public eye. The **** you aren’t.

You’re a good dad and a good person. Don’t listen to the MIB. They are as stupid as they are immoral.

I sincerely hope you have an excruciatingly painful death that’s imminent.

You provide nothing of value to society. And I mean nothing.

Is this any surprise coming from Kennedy given that his grandparents gave his aunt a lobotomy when she was 23 years old? The family shipped her away and did not visit her for 20+ years. Her siblings were not told where she was until after JFK was president, prior to that they explained that she was "reclusive". This was due to her developmental delays and outbursts due to complications at birth.

Do you actually think before you type this horseshit? Never mind, I know the answer.

One of my sons got a vet tech certificate and interviewed for a few related jobs, but now works at the local Goodwill. My other son's longtime girlfriend (also on the spectrum, but perhaps higher functioning) is attending the zoo program at a nearby community college here in North Carolina--I suspect the same one your son did. Small world.

RFK Jr is a monster. My 2nd oldest son is autistic. I feel all of this.

Unfvckingbelievable
I’ve long been somewhat torn regarding the fact that we’ve never had our son formally diagnosed, since he’s high functioning. The downside of no official diagnosis being that there are resources he may be deprived of that could be beneficial. His pediatrician did produce a formal diagnosis of ADHD early on which afforded him an IEP up through middle school. This was absolutely essential to setting him up for success in high school and now into college.

This shit makes me think that we’ve made the correct decision.

But how long before ordinary people with no medical qualifications are allowed to report on fellow employees, etc.? “Hey, I work with Fred every day and I’m pretty sure he’s on the spectrum; is he in your database?”

I would be a little worried about thar ADHD diagnosis being attached to him.

RFK'S labor camps idea was for them too.

Stay vigilant and good luck.

Believe what you will.

Dedicate yourself to a position no matter how rational and you'll convince yourself of its efficacy, You present tons of impressive looking references that are just garbage, sprinkled in with occasional legit studies/articles.

It works if you're conversing with people in your same orbit. But this is a Board comprised of posters including those with some sophistication. Conspiracy theories fly on some boards, no doubt but it makes you look foolish

IMO you do provide constructive debate when you're not delving in your conspiracy nonsense.

I wanted to take your (unsolicited) life coaching seriously but when I got to this part "this is a Board comprised of posters including those with some sophistication" well, I just couldn't anymore.
