Fvck that guy.
Hope he blows out his knee out on the first play of the first game next fall.
This case bugs me though. He took the money and ran. Didnt play one down, just got rich on fan’s hopes and donations. If he had any character he should give that money back. I get transferring or picking the wrong school, but not after taking money without even playing. This one doesn’t sit right.Do you actually hope a 19-year-old kid blows out a knee because he realizes he made a rash decision, or are you just upset he chose someone else?
This type of comment is precisely why college athletes should be able to profit from NIL and transfer without restrictions,

They probably tried to make him go to class at Iowa. So he noped out. We’re talking about Alabama. They don’t give a shit about things like academic eligibility.
In fact, I’m not sure the NCAA does any more either. I can’t recall the last time I heard about a player being ruled academically ineligible.
All kidding aside, is academic eligibility even a thing anymore? Has the NCAA completely abandoned all pretense of ‘student’-athletes?They probably tried to make him go to class at Iowa. So he noped out.
Angel Reese was academically ineligible earlier in the season. But with all the assistance at Iowa and other schools around the country, you gotta be a dumb SOB to not make grades. All kidding aside, is academic eligibility even a thing anymore? Has the NCAA completely abandoned all pretense of ‘student’-athletes?
As recently as the first half of Kirk Ferentz’s tenure at Iowa it wasn’t uncommon to lose one or two incoming recruits or existing roster players in any given year due to academics. I remember guys like Clinton Solomon and Shonn Greene and Amari Spievey all had to spend a year in JC to get their grades up.
And I’m also old enough to remember when final grades for fall semester came out during bowl season and there would sometimes be guys who had to sit out the bowl game.
Now we have to worry about guys transferring or opting out to prepare for the NFL draft, but I honestly can’t recall a single time in the past 10 years where a college football player was ruled academically ineligible.
This is one of the things that concerns me about AI. Obviously that’s a fake video. But someone could easily make a more realistic video of someone like, for example, a politician saying something they never said. And millions of people will believe it. Elections could be swayed by fake videos.
Academics is for nerds! College is to make da Benjamins! All kidding aside, is academic eligibility even a thing anymore? Has the NCAA completely abandoned all pretense of ‘student’-athletes?

Supposedly Calleb Downs was on the same spring break trip Proctor was and has removed Ohio State from his bio on Instagram. It sounds like the new coach for Alabama came in and his plan is to be always recruiting all the time. I won't be surprised if this trip involved a bunch of hookers, blow, and lots of cash promises.Fvck that guy.

BTW...I'd say the same thing for any other school in the country that a player would pull that crap on.
yes but it's the texting that is the problem.Supposedly Calleb Downs was on the same spring break trip Proctor was and has removed Ohio State from his bio on Instagram. Was that confirmed as the reason she sat out? Because it seems odd that academics would be the reason she got benched at halftime of the fourth game after playing in every game up to that point, then sat out the next four games, including the tournament in the Cayman Islands, and then returned to the lineup the first game after that trip.Angel Reese was academically ineligible earlier in the season. I mostly agree with what you said. However, I think that what these schools with "unlimited" funds are finding out is that they have created a monster. You give an 18 year old a million dollars or more and you are going to have all sorts of problems. Texas A&M is a good example. It is crazy that a kid that will probably never make it in the NFL is being paid millions. Between the NIL and the transfer portal, I kind of feel sorry for the coaches out there. I think you are probably better off recruiting the 3 star types that will work harder and be more of a team player. It's things like this that are one of the now numerous reasons why "college sports" are losing me as a fan.
I would rather they go to what amounts to being an honest, organized, professional (single) league where every "school" has to play by the exact same rules for both players and coaches.
I mean, let's face it. Calling it "college football" or "college basketball" seems quite ridiculous any more. There's going to be maybe 10 or so schools with unlimited money who will win everything in every sport in the not too distant future.
Might as well rip that band aid off now and get it over with - because that's where it's ultimately going. An Iowa will NEVER have that kind of money. Hell, I even doubt an FSU would ever have that kind of money.
4 fans showing upI want to hear a loud Proctor sucks chant tonight at the Iowa game.
It’s not really a rash decision though:
Commit to Iowa
Decommit
Commit to Alabama
Leave Alabama
Commit to Iowa
Leave Iowa
Commit to Alabama
All in 18 months or so.
The NIL mess will get figured out soon enough. And Iowa will be fine.
Hate to say it but he is a glorified thief. Took money and cars from Iowa, same from AL, and Iowa again. Tax man should commeth hard and long on him and his family. It’s not really a rash decision though:

Decommit

Leave Alabama

Don’t forget shitting on his fellow recruiting class members and future teammates while walking out the door the first time. What a colossal POS.It’s not really a rash decision though:
Commit to Iowa
Decommit
Commit to Alabama
Leave Alabama

I agree with this. Some kind of checks and balances has to happen. I honestly have no ill will toward Kayden, as I have no idea why this all transpired, but there’s gotta be some kind of structure and rules that protect both parties(athletes and schools).Given unlimited transfers the only sane way out of this is to create true employment contracts with salary caps, rules on switching teams, etc. Unionize the players so they have a voice in collective bargaining and complete the professionalization of college athletics. What we have now is the Wild West and that is not truly sustainable for the players, the fans or the universities.
College athletics are quickly becoming more like MLB where the richest teams buy whomever they want (but worse without the luxury tax). Of the bad choices moving forward I reluctantly prefer a professional model structured to ensure competitive teams.
Yes, it says AI before Kirk Ferentz. They've been doing this a lot especially with Brian. Even though they always put the AI in front I'm sure there are some that believe they're real quotes.I'm assuming that is fake.
They're already going to start seeing interest dwindle, although it will be slow. I'm wondering how closely I'll follow the team next year. I mean, if all I'm cheering for is the jersey and who cares who is wearing it, then that's what the NFL is for. College football does have one big advantage over the NFL though and that is I can actually watch the team I cheer for without having to pay hundreds of dollars on top of the bill I pay for TV to see them play. So, I guess as long as the NFL makes it really hard for me to watch the team I cheer for then they will be there. However, I may not go out of my way to adjust my schedule around every single Iowa game every fall anymore.Given unlimited transfers the only sane way out of this is to create true employment contracts with salary caps, rules on switching teams, etc. Unionize the players so they have a voice in collective bargaining and complete the professionalization of college athletics. What we have now is the Wild West and that is not truly sustainable for the players, the fans or the universities.
