the key to the MSU game

Get off to a good start. Too many times against MSU Iowa falls behind early and MSU plays too tough to get back into the game.

Joe T. has to be careful of foul calls, too, especially AT Michigan State.

Key is rebounding, rebounding, rebounding. Need Kreiner and Pemsl to have really good games and need to hit 3s when they are open.

This is the type of game in East Lansing that I'd love to see again:

- Fran needs to switch back to those frames for this game.

- Coach Calhoun said it best, early in the game that Iowa looked like they were "feeling good about themselves." That covers a lot here. Stay focused and aggressive on D, like this game. With no panic even if MSU starts dunking and draining 3s, just like early on in this game. Because next thing you know, they are missing jumpers / 1 and done trips, then you got em.

That'll do.

Iowa needs to have their A+ inside and outside game going all game long and put up at least 75 points. A win will be huge.

Cassius makes them go so need to get stops on D and hopefully get their bigs in foul trouble. And really need Weiskamp to be a factor in this one!

Luka had a pretty miserable game against them in EL last year. Went 1-10 and it was a three. He did have nine boards. I don't remember that game specifically, but being MSU, I assume he was hammered on most of his attempts. Hopefully this performance will be a motivation to redeem himself.

In the past, at East Lansing it has always been Sparty, slapping,. grabbing, hip checking every chance they could get and Iowa would politely cringe. I don't see that with this Hawkeye team at least hope not. We have to slap and grab the ball just as they do, the refs are either going to call everything or call nothing. Garza is smart enough to play smart defense and the refs know this. What influence Izzo has we shall see. Fran can bark at the refs also. Our attitude and toughness is there and showing itself this year. Get the lead and KEEP the lead.

Michigan St will be pushing, hand checking and all the basic Izzo getto/street BB he teaches
besides all his whining at the refs for calling a foul on one of his players.
If Iowa comes away with a win or a close loss I will be astounded.

If this is how easy it is to win at home, why doesn't every team just do this?

Yeah I looked at the box score from that game 10-22 (45%) from 3 and out rebounded Sparty 39-35. Hopefully Garzilla draws a lot of attention which leaves the guards open.

You always think about fouls, but with a player of the year candidate, hopefully it will negate some of the Tom Izzo bs. I don’t really know, but I hope it does!

They need this win badly.....they have lost 2 or 3? in a row at home? They think it's their right to win the B10 championship and that regular season championship is still within reach. Izzo knows that this is not the typical MSU team in terms of confidence and they are at a critical point.......match that up with our guys that don't take shit from other players and this game could get really testy tonight. Neither team is going to want to give an inch....I can foresee some early fireworks between players and coaches.

I think Izzo wants his guys to come out and punch us in the mouth and knock us out early.....he will have them jacked up and aggressive and our guys need to match that energy, especially early....and I could see it hitting the fan.

That said, maybe if we drain some long range threes right out of the shoot that may take some wind our of their sales....maybe

I think Iowa can punch them in the mouth in the 1st 4min...

Same as versus tOSU.

1. Wieskamp provides 2nd scoring threat.
2. Kriener and Pemsl get +45m.
3. Garza gets 30-35m.
Well, Iowa achieved none of these and paid the price for it

1. 10 from Wieskamp and they win.
2. 10m more from Kriener and they get the win.
3. 5m less from Garza and they don’t get a tired guy chucking and forcing his way to 21. FGA

THESE will be the keys to victory in the remainder of the games...
