First off Katrina was a wreck. This storm was not even close. Trying to survive by getting some food is one thing. When you have an entire group of people robbing a store of its belongings to just get free stuff, that is something entirely different. Not at all a good comparison.
Not comparing the two storms, or the two incidents. Simply comparing the way these things are reported.
Do you think people would be railing on black people during Katrina coming out of a store with a gallon of milk and bread? These people are looting the store, stealing speakers, shoes, tv's, anything they can get that they think is worth something.
How was this an example of what was being reported when one example was a legit article (AP) and the other was an image from an image service that anyone can make a caption for? If it we're two AP articles, I would agree, but it isn't.
