That last 16 years have literally been unnoticeable in terms of change, aside from COVID. Same shit. I imagine the next four will be no different. So many people worry about things that have zero impact on them or their families.

Republicans have momentum right now, but it never lasts. Not too long ago, people opined that Republicans would never have a president again due to the changing views. As much as both sides would like to see their teams rule in perpetuity, it just isn’t going to happen.
One thing that might be interesting is there has been some speculation that Trump could inadvertently start a “new” third party? Several staunch republicans to do not like him, but has has gained support from democrats - the Penn hoodie guy (can’t remember his name, Tulsi Gabbard, RFK jr and appears to have hijacked a large part of big tech that the Dems have had a firm hold on for years. I don’t think it will happen as third parties have always struggled in the US, but will keep things interesting - as Trump always does.

There's definitely a schism in the Republican party that could end up in a "third party". See a little of that with the D's but I think it's going to be more pronounced with the R's. Trump can hold them together to a certain degree but once he's off the scene I think the "coalition" falls apart....
