I think the fact that Kamala is a woman of color is also part of the problem. Dems insist on running nonwhite candidates in a way that isn’t organic and there is pushback against that. There should have been an open convention with a much more moderate candidate picked. And then there is the issue of picking Walz, which did nothing for her campaign.

As I said, had she released her internals, she could then easily justify how such a mistake was made. Since she did not, and she was so far off, one has to suspect it was intentional.

The way polling works, it's a statistical certainty that certain results are outliers. But the vast majority of pollsters now just deep six any result that doesn't confirm with the consensus. It's called poll herding, and it's because nobody wants to get called out for a bad miss.

But Seltzer is one of the few that doesn't herd her polls, and releases them all.

If other pollsters released all their results, even outliers, a miss like this would not be so unusual.
