The Presidency or the Full Congress?

What would you rather have happen out of the choices below?

  • Biden win the presidency. GOP control both the House and Senate

    Votes: 8 22.9%
  • Trump win the Presidency. Dems control both the House and Senate

    Votes: 0 0.0%
  • Biden win the Presidency. Split control of House and Senate

    Votes: 23 65.7%
  • Trump win the Presidency. Split control of House and Senate.

    Votes: 4 11.4%

  • Total voters
    35
Practically speaking, and sadly, one should always want the presidency, which is precisely the opposite of what it should be.

I have always thought it best to have Congress split, but as Formerly mentioned above, right now the R's are incapable and dangerous. Until they clear out the wackos and maga, it is best to have everything be Dems. Maybe once trump loses again, the GOP will wake up.

I can't for the life of me figure out how a nation of rules allows one person that is not the president to determine who goes on the supreme court.

I feel like if the GOP wins congress than Trump wins the presidency by default because the GOP congress will throw out some electoral votes and give it to him.

You don’t know how this works do you?

I know that a majority vote by the house and senate can throw out electoral votes. They tried to do that the last time but didn't have the majority to do it.

But most Republicans who would vote against it have been pushed out by now so I would expect that if the GOP won both houses of congress they would throw out some votes on Jan 6th to make Trump president.

D Pres. R congress. Pretty much ensures nothing gets done except the really basic, critical stuff. I like that.

D~ in Civics, eh?
I know the answer goldie, my comment is in regards to the fact that one person gets to pick and choose, which is exactly what mcconnell did, who gets a vote. You'd shit a brick if the democrats blocked a vote for a republican for some random reason, then said that reason didn't matter when there was a democrat in the oval office.

I don't want Democrat full control of the House and Senate, because there are some bone headed big brother type moves they tried last year.

Can I vote for a "Designated Survivor" scenario where we're forced to hit reset and replace everyone all at once?

In fact, I might even vote for Kiefer Sutherland.

I think each party having a really tight majority in one of the chambers is the best way. It ensures nothing crazy gets done, but leaves open the possibility that some good, common sense stuff might get through.

Full Dem control of Congress with a Biden 2nd term. All the "moderates" in the Dem party kill enough of the important legislation on their own so there's no reason to have Republican leadership.

If you are a truly a fiscal conservative, you would hope for a D president and R Congress. R controlling both branches usually means excessive spending and reduction in revenue.
