I'm surprised that Wisconsin's DC, Dave Aranda, wasn't interviewing for any head coaching gigs. Maybe he wants to build a longer resume and gain a better idea of what he'd do as a head honcho before testing those waters.

Regardless, I'm impressed with the Badgers for retaining him - his presence on their sideline is a huge reason why they were as successful as they were over the past few years.

Yeah, lots of folks assumed he'd be gone. How do we know he hasn't interviewed?

The fact Illinois and Minnesota didn't hire him is good for Iowa. We can count on a "W" as long as they keep their current coaches. From time to time Fitz will give us fits and Chryst won't be on any AD's list. But when it comes to coaches in our division Kirk is the best and the rest of the west is a jest which makes us blessed.

I'm surprised Fitzgerald didn't get a look by somebody. Maybe he did... who knows? Northwestern is a similar gig to Vanderbilt and I think Fitz has done a consistently better job at Northwestern than Franklin did at Vandy.

Fitzy is a Northwestern lifer. He's not going to leave that gig until they kick him out. Considering that he's a talented coach ... I don't anticipate that he'll be gone anytime soon.

Good point ... I suppose that he might have interviewed. However, I parse articles pretty closely ... and I haven't read anywhere that he was on any short-list. Furthermore, I had done quite a number of searches ... and nowhere has anybody leaked that he'd interviewed anywhere.
