With the new redshirt rule, any of these guys could get some minutes in up to 4 games, but my guess on the redshirt based on ONE PRACTICE (so, I am just guessing!)...both what I saw from the freshman and what the team needs might be!
Jayden McDonald, LB - of course, he didn't dress on Saturday, but based on what I have heard, assuming he stays healthy he will play on special trams.
Kaevon Merriweather, DB - Don't remember KM playing Saturday. Likely redshirt...
Logan Klemp,LB - Looked very thin, will need a RS year
Nico Ragaini, WR- Looks like he can help this team- Likely no redshirt
Seth Benson, LB- I would have said RS candidate, but he looked larger than HS highlights and looked like he belonged. ST role likely!
Dallas Craddieth, DB Running 3rd/4th string Saf, but could see the field on ST
Spencer Petras, QB - I think he plays in 4 games and RS.
Calvin Lockett, WR Since he didn't practice, cannot say much about his abilities, but a FR WR could play, assuming he gets healthy and learns the O.
John Waggoner, DE Needs size and toughness. Redshirt
Julius Brents, DB He will plays, already 2nd string CB!
D.J. Johnson, DB - Saw him used as gunner on punt teams, so he could get on the field on ST.
Noah Shannon, DT Too many bodies in front of him, need strength and lower pad level-RS candidate. I think Carl Davis when I watch him, however.
Jack Plumb, OL At just a shade of 250, he will need a year to become Doyle ready...but LT of the future! Great footwork.
Cody Ince, OL Don't remember seeing him, but RS for sure.
Terry Roberts, DB I think he redshirts, With Brent and Johnson more likely to play this year
Samson Evans,RB Definate RS candidate
Tyler Linderbaum DT Coulkd use a RS year, but may sneak into the lineup. Plays lower than Shannon.
Tyrone Tracy Jr.WR I think Tracy will play this year. Didn'tr do much in the scrimmage, but runs good routs and has some wiggle.
Henry Geil RB Good size, I think the numbers suggest he will RS however.
Dillon Doyle LB From MacDonald, Benson and Doyle, 2 will play on special teams. Whoever make strides and avoids injury
