The why

So it's a moot point then right, if the war was justified? How is this even a talking point? Every potential sitting president would have declared war in the early 2000's.
For clarifications purposes, Afghanistan was justified. The other 2 were not, at least based on the standards of today's RWers.

Now, clarify for me please, which wars have the Dems started as I originally asked?
 
Nobody is talking about the fact that the two political issues that Republicans were most vulnerable on, abortion bans and Project 2025, Trump clearly and equivocally disavowed.

The Dems were counting on major leverage on those issues based around "Sure, he clearly said he doesn't support them, but he actually will."

By contrast, Kamala just did not do enough to separate herself from the most toxic parts of her party. She definitely didn't run ON those platforms, she clearly tried to run to the middle, but she also didn't disavow them.

She just couldn't pull the trigger on diverging, probably because she was already on the record for so many. Maybe that's where not having an alternative candidate hurt more.
