Watching the Hawks control the MSU game last night, I couldn't help thinking that this team can still get better. If they ever have a game where they are firing on all cylinders....look out.
Maybe in the first half. The offense in the 2nd half only scored 28 points...I mean offensively and defensively, we were pretty close to firing on all cylinders. We would have beaten almost anyone in the country last night, which is about all you can ask for.
we decided to milk the clock in the second half with gessel shooting off balance with no time to get an open shot.it was effective but I wish we could just keep the pedal to metal the whole game.I think we may see that approach as success starts building and we realize we can beat most teams thoroughly.Maybe in the first half. Agreed. JU only 5/18, MG with some early foul trouble, slowed offense in the 2nd half. There is definitely room for improvement, which makes last night even more impressive.Watching the Hawks control the MSU game last night, I couldn't help thinking that this team can still get better. I'm all for milking the clock, but you still have to run your offense. Having everyone stand on the baseline until there's about 6 seconds on the shot clock and then chucking up a terrible shot is playing right into the other team's hands. We're lucky MSU didn't get a few more shots to go down otherwise it would've been a nail biter at the end.we decided to milk the clock in the second half with gessel shooting off balance with no time to get an open shot.it was effective but I wish we could just keep the pedal to metal the whole game.I think we may see that approach as success starts building and we realize we can beat most teams thoroughly.

I'm not trying to be negative. Just giving my thoughts on our late game offense. Can't wait for the Michigan game this Sunday!
