Think about this for a minute

I actually was going to start a thread about the hawks "66" yards yesterday. After seeing what you found this is totally unbelievable and very embarrassing. The coaches and offense should want to crawl in a hole. How is that even possible to have only 66 total yards. Plus they never scored, Jackson was the only person to score and he's on defense. That was a truly pathetic offensive display and they should be VERY VERY embarrassed. My lord, 780 games!!! Unbelievable, someone should bring that up at kf's news conference.

KF is the master of smoke and mirror games and seasons....will it EVER sink in with the University that these are simply outliers and that he and his son need to be gone yesterday?

But that's the beauty of it.......it still only felt like a 10 point game!

It only felt that way because of josh jackson. Watching this game it never felt like the outcome was in doubt, never felt like iowa had a chance.

Jackson had like 90 something yards in his pick 6’s. He scored 14 points (including extra points), the Iowa offense scored -7 points. Iowa’s total offense for the season ranks 102 out of 129 teams, etc, etc. Fact is, Brian Ferentz and this new coaching staff haven’t put together a respectable offense this season.

Overall, no, our offense has not been respectable this season. On a game by game basis, the offense has performed at times. The Iowa State game, the Illinois game, and the Ohio State game. What has killed us has been our inability (whether by scheme or execution) to run the ball when we want which has been the foundation of Iowa football since damn near forever.

As Iowa showed last year, we do not currently have the offensive line ability to run the ball at will until the whole line is healthy for three games or so. I am not going to call for heads to roll at this point because we have only seen a single year of the BF scheme. When he is able to open it up (Ohio State) it is a effective offense, when we cannot, poof.

As another poster said, at the beginning of this year, the fans who were sane were predicting a 7-9 win season depending on how the chips fell. Guess what? We are likely going to have a 7 or 8 win season.

lol. There was no beauty in that game, not for Iowa. Well, Josh Jackson. That was an amazing individual performance. But one man can't make up for a whole team playing poorly. And I gotta tell you. When Iowa went down ten points in the first half it felt like they were losing by a thousand. If it wasn't for Jackson's second half pick-6 the Badgers might have scored 50. That temporarily stopped UW's momentum.

3rd party observer.. when you have 2 pick 6's your D goes back out on the field.. that limits your snaps and yards. Penn State scored only 35 vs Rutgers.. that will happen when you receive the ball and fumble the god#$#$ kickoff, you lose the series and the snaps.

When I watch Iowa, a lack of downside passing game really hurts the Hawks.. Wiscy has a good front 7 and took the run away. Ohio State was a great win, but the Bucks used 2 games of energy during the comeback vs Penn State.. Penn State played punch drunk vs MSU.. nothing happens in a vacuum, esp in November when practices are cut back and legs are gone. You played 3 great teams, you went to-to-toe with PSU, hammered a tired Bucks team, and got smoked by Wiscy at their place. You held serve at home, and the warts showed up on the road.

So you played 3 monsters.. you dominated once, lost once, and got smoked once. That is pretty much Iowa football year after year! I did love how you guys exposed Hornibrook.. he was so bad last year that Wiscy used their other QB in the BIG Championship game. If the Buckeye's play well, they'll beat Wiscy by 14 on a neutral site.. but you never know with the 180 Bucks.

Your best bet might be to move your corner to O.. he has better hands, speed, and open field ability than any of your WR's LOL.

And if you ask him that on the call in show, what will he say? "That's football"

What other university would pay a coach over $5 million a year and settle for mediocre? Only one comes to mind......Iowa

This^^^^^The dline for Iowa has put lots of pressures on QB's the last 2 weeks and forcing them into some very bad throws that's the way Iowa plays team D.

That is true. He never has been. Ever. It is Kirk’s idea to have him coaching the offensive line.
That is because it's not the long term plan to have him there. The plan all along (and lets hope it doesn't happen now) was for him to move to OC after Brian takes over when Kirk steps down. Then bring in a new line coach or transition Morgan.
