I guess Penn State has some work to do if they want to surpass Ohio State. Until then, they're just Penn State.

Iowa's defense is not a 10 plus win defense based alone on the fact they miss way too many tackles. Then you throw in the fact that offenses who have a stud the blueprint on getting him the ball has been printed under Phil Parker.

OP you really do not know what good defense is because this is not one of them despite a top 20 or scoring defense ranking right now,

We are just very fortunate that we are in a league not loaded with awesome offenses and marquee skill players nor great QBs. This is exactly the type of recent Iowa defense that gets thrashed on a national stage in a good bowl game.

It's possible OSU could hang a big number on us.

This is not a good defense, plain and simple. It doesn't help Josey is playing with only one good shoulder.

tOSU is gonna scheme against Iowa's D to isolate linebackers with their backs. It's not going to be pretty for a certain linebacker compared to the others. Think PSU last year.

Don't get me started on Iowa's O and what tOSU D is gonna do to it. Hoping Iowa gets a score or 10 points the entire ballgame.

Offense just doesn't have that one go-to playmaker AND our OL is pretty makeshift this season.

Wadley is that playmaker, but too easy for teams to stack the line and LBs to cheat up and not respect our receivers. When receivers catch those long passes, and over the middle passes, then LBs cannot key on Wadley anymore. But Stanley and the WRs need to make teams pay, and we have not consistently done that.

Stanley looks solid, but he cannot carry a young and inexperienced team with average WRs.

This is true, and unfortunately it's a usual problem with Iowa.

This year's team has many issues, but many of them are due to injuries, lack of depth, various stages of player development, etc. But the one area where Iowa clearly lacks overall raw talent that is typical for an upper division B1G team is at WR. If Iowa would consistently have a roster with guys like DJK/McNutt/Stross/Sandeman/Moeaki, they'd be competing for the B1G West every single year. ISM is a start; I hope there are more like him to come (despite the "off the facemask INT vs. MN), because Iowa has struck out on so many others with seemingly similar potential.

This Defense is very good. Snyder would help alot. If we have any chance against OSUck we are going to need to really focus on stopping YAContact. Stanley gets more comfortable every week, I dare say he showed a little "playmaker" yesterday. Rugumba is going to need to be solid and Jackson is going to have to have to be Jackson.

The other thing that doesn't seem to be discussed enough IMO. We need to win the turnover battle. Turnovers have hit is at some horrible times. We win the turnover battle against OSUck and we will be in it at the end.

They obviously have 'not' missed too many tackles, lol. Which teams this year has got the ball to their 'stud' and lit up this defense? The best play Barkley had against us, his knee was actually down after about a 5 yd. gain. I consider your post a 'fail' and agree this is definitely a 10+ win defense. The main difference between this year and 2015 is finding ways to win close ball games, and the schedule. The defense is giving up a field goal less a game this year than 2015 against a tougher schedule, while the offense is scoring a TD less a game. Next thing I know, you'll be blaming everything on Bo Bower, lol.

The defense has outperformed the offense all but 2 seasons under KF. For a man who loves the word "balance", he sure struggles with its definition.
Well, I'm pretty sure when he talks about 'balance' he is referring to a balance of the run and pass, but ok, you got your regular 'shot' at the coach in. Nothing new from you.

So you're saying he intentionally doesn't want balance in the contributions between offense/defense? Do you think that says something good? Also, it's weird you keep reading all my posts considering they offer you nothing new. For X-mas you could ask Santa for an ignore button and A LIFE.

It would be even better if we had a consistent pass rush. Against the Gophers it was much improved but for the rest of the year it's been non-existent

Your churlish and childish insults are nothing new as well. I just merely pointed out the FACT that when he talks about balance in interviews he is referring a balance between the run and pass. I said no such thing about 'intentionally wanting, etc....' I just try to deal in facts. I don't attempt to 'read into' what other people say in a feeble attempt to strengthen an argument that doesn't exist. What do you think I'm trying to say now, lol.
