This whole "we are disrespected!" story line is beyond annoying

Actions speak louder than words, so if we beat MSU we have proven our point-that we belong. All this whining about the national pundits make us sound like whiny ISU/Nebraska fans. I really wish our fans would handle this rare bit of success a bit better. It really is embarrassing to our fan base and team.

Clearly you have never been seen as an underdog.

I think its entertaining and probably helps motivate our team. The fans contribute to feeding the beast that just keeps getting bigger and bigger.

I really don't have a problem with any of it. It just makes me want them to win even more to shut all these people up.

I am curious on how many of these whiners on here actually attended the University of Iowa.

And who started the thread months ago about all the situations that we wouldn't get in even if we went undefeated? Hope he changed user names by now.
I'm curious as to if you attended Iowa, and I'm also curious as to why that matters. Without the fans that didn't attend, the football team wouldn't be what it is.

I could see the value of it, in the old system where voting was the determining factor for declaring a national champion. Under that system, we would have little, if any chance.

However, with the 4 team playoff, we have the opportunity to win it on the field.
And whether we are ranked 1, 2, 3, or 4 after this weekend really doesn't matter other than who we will play.

"these people?" As in talking heads you will never see or meet?

Yes, I have. And my team and I didn't spend all our free time worrying about "haters" and "disrespectors." we let our actions do all the talking. Which is how I normally live my life.
Then how did you know you were underdogs? It's a natural human emotion to want to prove someone wrong when they say you can't do something. Unless you're a robot that has no emotions, then I'm not buying that.

I think Steven has me on ignore....so much for not worrying about 'haters' and 'disrespect'.

Hypocrisy Steven,...an Iowa graduate should know what that means.

Just because I ignore you doesn't mean I have you on ignore. I have no idea who you are, but 5 unresponded posts in one thread in under 20 minutes makes your intentions (and your mental state) crystal clear. I can only assume this is another multiple handler

I think you just don't have the caliber of wit needed to match mine. I graciously accept your defeat. Do not pretend you are here for any other reason but to troll. I know a troll when I see one...and....

So creating a thread to try and show us all how you are the bigger man, and a better fan is less annoying/embarrassing?

It was me who didnt think we would get in....I am still surprised...and yes I am a UI graduate.

I admit it. I felt like we would get ripped off. I am still a little shocked, yet even undefeated we are only #4.

stevenp, I have to agree with you on the poster who started all the threads laying out all the scenarios where Iowa would not make the playoffs even if undefeated. Many of us replied over and over that if we just continue to win, we will be in but he would start a new thread each week. Annoying, it was.

I don't mind the whole disrespect card being played by the "experts".

A winning Iowa team apparently makes the media people not happy. It brings great entertainment to see what they come up with next when Iowa keeps winning. I liken the entertainment value to seeing everybody lose their mind on facebook (when I had an account) when certain athletes win (ie: tom brady, lebron james)

I dunno. Seems Boise State got less scrutiny for playing ONE Power-5 team then going undefeated against no one rest of the way, than we get for a complete season...

Will never know but trying to imagine the outcry if we were 13-0 and left out if the top two in the old system. Thank goodness it has at least gone to 4 teams. Hard to argue we don't deserve to at least be in the top 4, and also hard to argue that we would belong in the top 4 with 1 loss.

I wish you would handle your self-proclaimed success a lot better. You really are embarrassing to 'our' fan base and team.
I don't act like a whiny, "little brother" fool about this whole situation. I follow plenty of national media, but i hear plenty of positive Iowa feedback. And I honestly have not run into one single person out here in real life that has said Iowa is overrated. Everyone is giving these pundits what they want-attention.

My only question to you SP is, what does your "inside" source think about this situation?

He will let you know two days after it happens.

Remind me again what news you've broken around here? And yes I know it's hard to post breaking stories when you spend over 2 hours a day commuting on I-25.

And I will be seeing my source tomorrow when he picks me up at the Indy airport. I will get my regular info and debate whether or not it's worth sharing here.

The irony of stevenpatrick preaching about how others need to handle success humbly and quietly is almost too much for me to handle.

Steven, if actions speak louder than words, can you share a video of you throwing down a dunk instead of telling us stories claiming that you're the reason your high school has break-away rims?

Your actions are hardly worth the promotion you give them over and over on this board. We laugh AT you. The fact that you cannot see this is what keeps many of us coming back to these threads. And in the second post I quoted, I think you meant "I'll read the Lounge in my cab ride from the airport, and if I can rip off any of the subjects, I'll do so"... You have never broken a single story. EVER.

Hubbard leaving. Hampton injury. Wegher and Arob's issues. Hill's status. CJ being called starter. To name a few.

And I'm clearly not a Lounge member, so you can put that rumor to rest. I know it's hard for common folk to swallow the bitter pill of reality that others may know more than them.

You start the thread by saying actions speak louder than words, and that people should stop whining when analysts dismiss Iowa's football team.

Then when a few posters dismiss your "insider" knowledge you come back to defend your honor by bringing up past "accomplishments."

Touche on making everyone give you what you want - attention.

This thread is more ironic than an Alanis Morissete song.

I'm pretty sure it was someone else. You have been around here and HROT long enough for me to have remembered if it was you.

Teldar was the one with the 17 page hypothesis about how an undefeated Iowa team would be 10th in the country.

Are you upset that I didn't respond to your initial post in this thread? I'm sorry for that. I know how much you like to be proven wrong by me.

And you do realize the difference between my fact-based basis for why I posted and the baseless, emotion-based hypothetical whining of the fan base on this board?
