Thomas Bryant gone from Indiana- signs with agent

Maybe he'll land on a team that will pass him the ball.
No doubt Dan! You almost had to feel for the guy. There were times he would just be standing alone in the paint, while somebody would be jacking it up from 30ft. Don't know how he'll fare on draft day, but who nows with all the Euro guys coming in every year, the draft is a crap shoot.

Heard he would leave after two, the reality is he is not NBA ready. I think he would have been better to wait and come into a weak draft next year. There are some very good things about his games. I hope Cook figures out he is not NBA ready next spring. I am fine if players realize that Europe and NBDL is where they will get minutes not in the NBA.

Loved this kid. My fave player in the B1G who was not a Hawkeye. Busted his tail and got very little cooperation from teammates. Poor coaching job by Crean in my opinion.

He got almost nothing development wise out of his time at Indiana. Yet he worked his tail off, tried being a vocal leader, and was often one of only two/three guys willing to play defense all game long. I'd guess he learned more from Bielfeldt, who learned how to play at Michigan, than he ever did from Crean. Robert Johnson is another guy I felt sorry for at Indiana.

I kind of do wish him well in the future. Not anything like my feelings for Hawkeyes, but as an opponent I grew to respect and had sympathy for, being in that "system", whatever it could be called. There are coaches in the PTL that would coach rings around Crean. I wish Indiana hadn't Creaned Crean, dangerous place if they have a good coach. I mean, if Clappy the Clown could win two Big Ten titles.....

I think he'll do well. He's got a decent jump shot and with his height and ability to spread the D could be just what some teams are looking for in a post. His jumper is light years ahead of Cooks

He suffered from the same problem Woody had at Iowa, nobody would give him the ball when he got position. Can't tell you how many times I screamed at our guys to get Woody the ball in the lane and it almost never happened. Now this kid is much more talented than Woody and has a much higher up side. The kid will probably make it in the NBA, although, he could have used another year or 2 in school.

Woody was not going to do anything with the ball, so no harm. Bryant is a lot more skilled offensively than Woody.

I think it's likely that no matter who the coach is the me first mentality of some of the kids on Indiana will remain an issue. It's easy to say stay in school, but it couldn't be fun to play with guys who don't share the rock. It wouldn't build loyalty to them.

Hes got size and athleticism to defend the rim in the nba, along with nice but somewhat raw offensive talent.

He'll get drafted.

Assuming OGA and Hartman come back 100%, along with Morgan and freshman Davis, IU is still loaded. They just need one of their guards to step up and show some leadership. Hartman is kind of a Baer type for IU, so they really missed him, along with OG this year.

OGA signed with an agent. He is gone.

I agree on the international guys (not just Europe, but Russia, China, other places, too). I think the international players impact the Bigs in college more than the guards. I'm not going to do any research, but last year's draft had tons of 7-footers (give or take) from overseas in the first round. I remember watching Diamond Stone and especially D. Davis pouting throughout the first round. They had both been projected to be first rounders by a lot of publications, but it's obvious that those publications are pretty far behind NBA scouts in terms of approaching the draft as an international affair. Not sure if they'd have been drafted higher if they had waited and developed their game more, though? Possibly. I think we might see a lot more bigs in the U.S. waiting longer to come out and declare. Not this year, maybe not next year, but once the recent trend of taking Europeans and Russians as lottery picks takes hold as a pattern, there will be a shift. And that will be damn good for college basketball!
