A car crash near Atlantic injured three volunteers and an employee of Ben Carson’s presidential campaign.
Carson released a statement Monday afternoon said a van transporting the four people hit a patch of ice and flipped on its side, where it was struck by another vehicle.
The passengers and campaign staffer, who was driving, were taken to Cass County Memorial Hospital. One volunteer was then transported to the trauma center at Nebraska Medicine in Omaha.
According to the statement, “Dr. Carson has spoken with the family of the volunteer being transported to Omaha, as well as the attending physician.”
Carson canceled remaining campaign events today to travel to Omaha to be with the volunteer’s family.
