These are all facts when thrown together don't seem to make sense:
Fans pay $55/ticket/game regardless of the game. But West Texas has tickets for as low as $12 for their home games. Illinois State, is at $25-35/ticket for homes games. Why should Iowa fans pay $55 to see West Texas or Ill State play? Iowa football collected $31mm in ticket revenue last season. They want to make a ton in ticket sales but they are not scheduling match-ups that warrant a $55/game price tag. They want easy wins to get to the magic 7-5 to keep the gig alive. This all works well for those that have salaries tied to the AD but its not a fair deal for the hard working fans. On top of all this...they might even lose those games. And why go out of your way to schedule an FCS team when there are 128 teams in the FBS? Barta's salary was $921k last year. All he wants is 7-5 to get another $921k...a few more years and then he can retire. I hope he sleeps well after robbing the fan base.

Who is West Texas?

These guys!

When does Illinois state host a P5 team in Normal,IL. While you can argue the tix for Illinois State and North Texas are over priced. Your examples are comparing apples to oranges.

Welcome to the beauty of a capitalist economy. I, for one, will be going to each home game but one, when I'll be traveling. I will be paying face value (or less) for the tickets (I'm not a season ticket holder). I have no doubt that a cheaper ticket for the North Texas and ISU games would encourage more people to come. But how cheap would they have to be to sell out? Would it even be possible to get them cheap enough? With that aside, a winning team will sell a lot of tickets and fill the stadium. I hope very much that the team is good enough this year to revive the market.

However, if you are a fan who is actually able to buy tickets and go to games (I know many are not in that position), then by all means continue to let your lack of purchasing be your voice to the athletic department. If enough folks agree with you, something will eventually change. If there are enough folks out there (like me) who will buy tickets and fill the stadium at the current prices, then you can expect nothing to change.
