ticket prices

The package deals that websites offer seem like a good deal. Why not just do one of those?

They will come down....just taking advantage of Hawkeye Nation and the thirst for a huge bowl game trip. I am sure many of those selling saw what Iowa brought to the table at the BTCG and are trying to take advantage of it. Make your flights, etc., and be patient.

Just booked myself/wife...we may eat beans/rice for a month...
Booked hotel, working on tickets. Airfare is not a problem since Doodle doesn't fly. Ticket prices are definitely up there....so perhaps the Doodles will have to cut back from Filet Mignon to New York Strip for a week, celebrate the New Year with the 1996 Dom Perignon instead of the 1990, and turn down the thermostat on the indoor pool a degree or two.

But hey, those are sacrifices we're willing to make for something like this.

Could drain one of the hot tubs if you really had to as well.

Anyone who thinks ticket prices are going to drastically go down is going to be sadly disappointed. Prices will abate some, but will still be expensive.

I put my request in to the University for 2 $185 tickets. If I get them, then I'll price flights and hotels. If too expensive, I'll just sell the tickets (no, I won't gouge).

Who's this Doodle? You or the old bag?

Keep us here on hawkeyereport in mind if you do sell them. I've got a hotel and flight, but no tickets, and I can't see myself paying over $600.00 for a ticket. My fiancee would be pissed. And yes, I've asked everyone I know with season tickets, no luck there.

Dont expect too much of a dropoff in price. Once the U announces who is getting tix, the secondary markets will see a spike in prices. There are 50K tickets up for grabs after the schools sell out. Best of luck if you think the tix will drop to a more "affordable" range.

Twice as many tickets on stub hub now as there was last night. Prices also have gone back up. Is this how the rose is every year?

I may or may not get tickets from the University. The real problem is airfare. In one day it's gone from a low of $400 to a low of $1,200. I don't know how people are going to be able to afford it and my wife and I make plenty of cash.

Tips for pricing- use chrome and open a private browser before searching tickets. If you've searched already, clear your cookies and temp files, then go to private browsing and search.

Airline companies will keep boosting prices by keeping not track of your searches and desired dates. The more you search for flights in a non-private browser the higher the price will go. Clear your search history, reload the window, and search in private mode.

Rose Bowl now holds 92,542. I go to a few Bruins games from time to time. The capacity was 108,000. Upgrades didn't do much for the stadium except take away a lot of seats.

You can rent a luxury box for up to 20 people for $50K. So if someone wants to pay $49500 for 19 people, I will pay $500 for the last seat!

Check other than LA. Booked to San Diego, $700. You can also fly to Vegas, it's a 3 1/2 hour drive.

Took the board's advice and called a colleague in California who's a Stanford alum. I'm hoping he can get me tickets through their ticket office. Also went on-line and ordered through the university. If I double up, will certainly offer extras at a reasonable price.

Keep the faith everybody, where there is a will, there is a way.

Go Hawks.

If you get tickets and decide not to go, don't forget the little people below you on the priority point list, that have only donated and held season tickets for the 8 years since they graduated
