Tickets and hotels

I have absolutely no problem with paying $150-plus for a nosebleed seat at Saturday's game, but this whole hotel situation in Indianapolis is keeping me from pulling the trigger on a ticket. Even though i'm guessing there are no bad seats in the house, and it's a truly special opportunity for our Hawkeyes, I'm really struggling to convince myself to just do it, especially with Gus calling the game. So, three things:
1) What is everyone doing post game? (Staying outside the city, in the city, heading home, etc.)
2) Where's everyone sitting and, for those who've been to Lucas Oil, how's the view from the nosebleeds?
3) Convince me to go.
On Iowa!

i'm really hopeful the tickets drop in a day or two. There's no way anyone is jumping at the craigslist bait to pay 250+ for crappy tickets. At some point, those sellers will lower their prices right?

I've kept hearing from person after person that prices "should" drop once the matchup became decided, but that hasn't happened yet, from what I've seen. We're still looking at close to $300 for anything not in the top deck.

I've been following the MSU mega thread for advice since they have experience with it. They seem to think prices will bottom out around Wednesday or Thursday.

Scalpers know iowa fans travel. That double edged sword kinda sucks. I bet they don't drop much.

Look further west for hotels. Even in Illinois. Why not just plan to drive a few hours once done celebrating? Make sure you have a sober driver or 2 or *gasp* don't drink.

Don't NOT go because of hotel. Just plan a bit better

No reason to overpay now. Game is still 4-5 days away. If you're going to drop 200 dollars a ticket, then just scalp on Saturday. Scalping is always cheaper.

I'm going to give it another day before pulling the trigger on some tickets off stubhub. Hotel wise I've booked a room in Danville, IL.

Got my tickets off of Vivid View last week for $115(Terrace Level, but what the hell)

When looking up Hotels you will not find availability for one night only on the 5th.(search for multiple days and "poof" openings available. Multiple days take priority in the hotel biz)

I reserved for three days starting on the 5th.(Hotel within stumbling distance)

Upon check-in, cancel the remaining days you don't want.

I took a chance after Minnesota and bought two tickets (400 section) for $125 a piece along the sideline. I am glad I did. We are staying in Brownsburg, IN outside of Indy and plan to hang out there Friday night. We plan to go to Indy early and go to fan fest and walk around before the game. After the game we are going back to Brownsburg and then sleeping. We are leaving early on Sunday.

I'm sorry, but if you're a big Hawk fan why do you need to be convinced to go? If you really wanted to go why didn't you book hotel rooms a few weeks ago? The great thing about hotels is that you can cancel your reservation.

Hotels are starting to open. Hampton Inn had rooms this morning for 109 about 10 minutes from downtown
