Hi, I've noticed tickets for this game online are a little ridiculous. $150 for 1 ticket? I know there are reasonable people out there. I'm looking for 2 for the game this weekend. I will pay about face, but don't get crazy. You can email me at sjane1991@gmail.com

Would appreciate any help at all!

It's officially a sell out, so that will drive the cost up on the secondary market websites. You could try scalping right before kickoff, not sure how much they will budge.

I am hoping to scalp them sat for a little above face value. Only looking for 1. Find the drunk crowd, and scalp from them. Some probably wont even make it to the game.

$400 Season Ticket Cost
$1000/7 games = $143/ticket/game

Not sure what is so ridiculous paying $150 to get into a highly demanded game.

Do you also think it's ridiculous to pay $20 for a $143 ticket when the market is not strong?

The amount of ppl always looking for free/cheap handouts is what is ridiculous to me.

Considering the university was selling them for $60 a piece, I don't think it's unreasonable to want to spend $75-$85 for a ticket. Do you have to be a douche bag my money bags?

Well said, don't forget the $8. Per game for the chairbacks .

I don't understand why people get so mad about inflated prices for big demand games. Do they also get mad when they pay $15 for a ticket to a low demand game? The prices are what they are. Try to find a cheap ticket if you can, but don't complain if you can't.

This. Sure it sucks paying so much for tickets to an in-demand game, but it also sucks to get so little return for a game that isn't, like Purdue. It is the market. But, that said, I have no problem with the OP's post, do whatever you can to convince a ticket holder to lower their price, it is the American way.

I will add, again, that up until about a week ago the OP could have bought a face value ticket from the ticket office. So why the wait until 4 days before the game?

Was thinking same thing. Just a few weeks ago lots of tickets were available from the box office, and the prices on Stubhub were about face value. Now he suddenly wants tickets for the game with perhaps the highest demand this century (based on selling out with single game tickets, despite the lowest season ticket total in some time), and is complaining about paying >$100.

The new American way model would be for the middle class to purchase all the tickets but the university to distribute them to all of the poor people of Johnson County.

Hell, 6 years ago $100/ticket was still a bargain, sold many of my season tickets for $150/each, even for the middle road Big Ten games.

This has been BY FAR the most economical season in terms of $$ spent/win that I've ever been to. People scalping this year and had a helluva ride.

Because I have kids and wasn't sure if we'd be able to go. Thanks for your concern though.

Colfax....so why didn't you buy them a few weeks ago for $65 thru the TO if you are a fan?

Don't feel sorry one bit for all these bandwagon fans being left out trying to jump back on ship now we are 9-0.

Funny how you don't see ticket request posts for any other games you could get cheap tix under face for. Freeloaders don't deserve to get into Saturday's game.

Bandwagon? Ha! I know more about Hawkeye football than you could ever dream of. I'm 24 years old, with 2 kids and we weren't sure if we could go. Thanks so much for your input though.

A night game in November with young kids is not a good moveas it gets darn cold. Take them to a game in September. tickets are available and cheaper, except for ISU game.

my kids aren't going. My parents weren't sure if they'd be able to watch them. 8 months and 3 is too young for a game. 3yo didn't make it out of the 1st inning at an I-Cubs game

If somebody feels the need to donate money to University because they want to, by all means do so. If they do that to get season tickets they are not a smart person not good with money.

That being said, this is an unbelievably huge game and people who want to buy a ticket are going to have to pony up some money..

I paid $10 more, idiot.

My god you people are special
Let me introduce you to the resident douche bag. Just out him on ignore. He is infamous for being a jerk.

Glad you were able to get tickets at a reasonable price. I may have an extra and would sell it to a kid like you in a heart beat. Always need more young fans.

I doubt SP is even going.

She HAS to go to the game? Do you not have friends to go with? I can't remember the last time my wife went to a game with me.
I might be fortunate, but there is no one I would rather go to the game with than my wife. She loves FB, catches things I miss and have to watch on the replay and when the games get cold, she is pretty good snuggler! Heck, she is even superstitious about a football wallhanging in our entry way and what clothes she wears on gameday.

Probably because she can't stand you.

This x 1000......she gets a few hours away from your d-bag routine, probably the best part of her week.

Even though I enjoyed this particular response, if you all could stop quoting S (mall) P (enis) 's posts I would appreciate it. Having him on ignore doesn't work as well when you do.

Many thanks! Go Hawks!!
